2016 Annual Ripley County Basketball Tourney draw held at Cricket Ridge Restaurant

The annual luncheon draw meeting for the annual Ripley County Basketball Tournament was held on December 2, at Cricket Ridge Restaurant in Batesville. Representatives from each of the four schools, South Ripley, Milan, Batesville, and Jac-Cen-Del were present to discuss tournament rules, dates, etc. and establish who would open tournament action against whom. Following the meal, the business part of the meeting commenced where the draw was performed placing Milan in the second spot as the home team in tournament

Game one, South Ripley likewise drew the home side of game two, with Jac-Cen-Del drawing a visitors spot against the Raiders in game two’s onset battles leaving Batesville to fill the visitor’s position in Game one action. The initial draw is the pattern used throughout all RCT events for the year, saving the confusion of individual draws for boys varsity, girls varsity, boys JV and girls JV and in some years freshman boys. The one draw fits all works well. (Please note: There is no freshman boys or freshman girls RCT for 2015-16 due to lack of numbers nor is there a consolation game for the boys nor girls JV.) Junior Varsity Girls action opens at 6 p.m. at Jac-Cen-Del High School for JV Lady Eagles and JV Lady Raiders. The boys JV JCD vs. SR game follows at 7:30 p.m. Simultaneously at Batesville High School on Tuesday evening January 5, the JV Batesville Lady Bulldogs will battle the Milan Lady Indians JV at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by the Bulldogs and Indians JV Boys contest. RCT JV Girls Championship will be at So. Ripley HS @ 10AM on Saturday, January 9, followed by the JV Boys Championship game at noon.
