Barbara S. Bannister
Barbara S. Bannister, 73, Crothersville, passed away at her home at 1:56 a.m. Sunday morning, December 6, 2015. She was born May 16, 1942 in Dupont, the daughter of Charles Hash Eble and Bertha Mae (Graham) Eble. On June 10, 1960 she married Bert J. Bannister in Uniontown, and he survives.
Barbara was a 1960 Crothersville High School graduate. She retired from Sylvania in 1999. She also worked at the US Shoe Factory, American Can, H.O. Canfield Industries, Talon, and Electra. She was a member of Cana United Methodist Church, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, and Schneck Medical Center Guild.
Other survivors include one daughter, Tammy (Jack) Swindell of Seymour; one son, Gregory Scott (Christine) Bannister of Bowling Green, KY; one sister, Penny (Terry) Hollin of Crothersville; six grandchildren, Kyler (Carly) Blevins of Crothersville, Caleb, Cheyanne, and Clarissa Bannister of Bowling Green, KY, Lauren and Lindsay Swindell of Seymour; and two great grandchildren, Kolton and Kase Blevins of Crothersville. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Ann French and Donna Kay Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Martha K. Clark
Martha K. Clark, 71, Dillsboro, passed away late Monday evening, December 7, 2015 at her home following a long illness. She was born in Dearborn County on August 26, 1944 to Ralph and Cozzie (Baker) Smith. She was united in marriage to Earl Clark, who passed away in 2006.
Martha was employed at the Waters of Dillsboro, Milan Health Care Center, and the Waters of Rising Sun, where she worked her way up to dietary supervisor. Martha loved fishing, decorating for Christmas, and loved to joke around with her family. She was a big fan of NCIS, and hardly ever missed a show. She was an avid reader and loved watching football on television.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristy Irene Clark and her fiance’ Will; her grandsons, Matthew Robert Clark, Andrew Clark, Tevin Hardy, Jeremiah Roach; and her granddaughters, Rachael Johnson, Amber Clark, and Samantha Clark; her nephews, Lee Dressellhouse, Rick Smith, Robert Wayne Smith, Joey Johnson, and Wayde Clark; and her niece, Tina. Also surviving is a special friend, Linda Simmers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Clark, on August 7, 2006; her son, Bobby on Sept 28, 2002; one brother, Ralph; and two sisters, Thelma and Grace.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Virgil Clyde McKay
Virgil Clyde McKay, 74, Madison, passed away at 1:25 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison. Interment will follow at a later date in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay. Visitation will also be Friday, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project, contribution cards are available at the funeral home. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, is in charge of arrangements.
