James E. Foster
James E. Foster, age 62, of Napoleon, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 in Indianapolis at Methodist Hospital. Born on April 19, 1955, James was the son of the late Stanley and Lorraine Foster. He grew up in a large family with six brothers and four sisters. On July 3, 1975, he married Cheryl Ann Roberts, who survives.
A graduate of Jac-Cen-Del Jr-Sr High School, Jim went to work for Delta Faucet in 1975. He had held various positions with the company during the 42 years he worked for them, but most recently he was a hand jack operator. Not surprisingly, with coming from a huge family, family meant much to him. However, he kept active with other interests also. He enjoyed woodworking, especially scrollwork. He was a fantastic photographer even though he preferred never to be in the pictures. Taking road trips to enjoy the country and wild life was another enjoyable pastime. Some of his favorite destination trips included Siesta Key, Gatlinburg, and Gettysburg. The family commented that he enjoyed teasing and picking on his family even during the last hours of his life. One brother said, “Jim was a kind, gentle, happy-go-lucky guy.”
Survivors include his wife Cheryl Foster at home; and his daughter April Marie Foster and fiancé Lester Clark, Napoleon. His six brothers are Dennis (Janice) Foster, Nogales, AZ; Tim (Janet) Foster, Napoleon; Doug (Pam) Foster, Greensburg; Mick Foster, Greensburg; Johnny Paul (Lynn) Foster, Osgood; and Larry Mark (Phyllis) Foster, Greensburg. His four sisters are Diane Huening, Greensburg; Peggy (Duane Sizemore) Murray, Napoleon; Rita J. Foster, Greensburg; and Laurie Foster, Napoleon. Also surviving are his grandchildren Aaron Johnson, Alex Foster, and Allison Smitley; his mother-in-law Wanda Roberts, Napoleon; brother-in-law Mickey Roberts, Milan; and sister-in-law Kim McKinley, Myakka, FL. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son Samuel Edward Foster.
Services will be held all in one day at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood on Thursday, July 27. Visitation will be from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. with the funeral following at 6:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Arrangements were made by Neal’s Funeral Home of Osgood.
