Knowing for some time now that they were on the brink of capping an old MHS Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay swimming record, the combination of senior Jarrod Nichols, junior Alex Volz, and two freshmen Ben Hartwell and Noah Haessig, found their goal met during the 2016, 32nd annual South Dearborn High School Swimming Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 10.
The old record time of 1:56.42 set back in 1999 has now been replaced by the new Milan High School time of 1:54.87. Quite a feat, considering 18 years of Milan High School boys swimmers have come and gone, unable to capture the goal. During the day’s progress, Indian senior Jarrod Nichols also reset his MHS record with a faster time in the Men’s 100 Yard Breaststroke.
