Sectional action brings SR Lady Raiders soccer season to a close!

An overall assessment of the 2016 South Ripley Lady Raider soccer teams encounters resulted in 0 wins, 13 losses and 3 ties. It’s not the desired result by any means for the players nor the coaches. Despite the record, the coaches had probably the greatest positive comments any coach can say about a team: “We couldn’t have been more proud of the attitudes displayed by our team all year.”
Obviously, the measure of victory is not always found in who has scored the most points, but rather in who practiced, played and put forth the best effort while aiding fellow competitors to do the same. The final battle for the Lady Raiders of 2016 was played during the IHSAA Sectional at Rising Sun High School as they fell to the Switzerland County Lady Pacers, 0-2. Again the team proudly represented their school, but found it hard to put numbers on the scoreboard. The Lady Raider Soccer teams head coach was John Brison, and he was assisted by David Baugh. After losing many seniors last year, the Lady Raiders team will take another large hit when this year’s six seniors graduate in 2017.
