Dennis M. Walsh
Dennis M. Walsh, 68, of Versailles, formerly of Holton passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his home. He was born at Milan on August 12, 1946, the son of Walter and Selma Stagg Walsh. He was married to Bonnie Ross on June 12, 1965, and his wife of 49 years survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Terri Shelton of Indianapolis; grandson Dylan Shelton of Indianapolis; one sister, Janet (Travis) Mack of Holton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Dennis Scott Walsh.
Mr. Walsh was a 1964 graduate of Holton High School and was a member of both of Holton’s 1962 and 1964 sectional championship teams. He was a former employee of Cummins Engine in Columbus and retired as a lineman from the Southeastern Indiana REMC. Denny was a former member of the Indiana National Guard and in his spare time he enjoyed working his farm and woodworking. He had also trained and raced standard bred horses.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Ty Choate of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
