Excitement filled the air poolside, as the three teams and their coaches anxiously awaited the call for the start of the first event. Swimmers were pleasantly surprised at the onset to see Shelby Zornes, former Milan Lady Indians swimmer and college swimmer graduate of Wilmington College, as an official IHSAA referee to oversee the night’s event. Zornes held position on the Milan pool tote board in many events during her swimming career at Milan High School, which helped to propel her to gain recognition and earn a swimming scholarship.
