Coach David Bradshaw’s varsity baseball on the attack

By a whopping 19-0 margin, that's how soundly veteran Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Baseball Coach David Bradshaw’s varsity team defeated the hosting Madison Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at MSHS on Monday evening, April 14.

The Eagle catchers position was vacated via the 2013 graduation of Eagle Trent Smith who now attends Northern Kentucky University as a freshman.
Utilizing his entire bench, Coach Bradshaw’s varsity Eagle team found the 10 run/ five inning rule on JCDs side after nearly doubling the requirement for a shortened game. The winning combination on the mound and behind the plate for JCD included junior catcher Allen Hooton and sophomore pitcher Tyler Huff
Huff‘s line count at game’s end included: Facing 19 Hilltopper batters over the shortened five-inning game, where he only was charged with giving up two hits while amassing a nine man strikeout count.
The Eagles sent 31 members to the plate during the game where they accumulated 19 runs off 15 hits. JCD accumulated 15 RBIs among their team members, while generating two doubles, a triple, 10 walks, four Ks and two hit batters.
JCD has fallen in a made-up game that has been postponed at Morristown; defeated the Switzerland County Pacers 16-1 in five innings; split a Saturday doubleheader against the visiting Oldenburg Academy Twisters with a 5-1 win and a 8-11 loss; taken the Shawe Hilltoppers down on their own hill 16-0 in five; defeated the neighboring South Ripley Raiders at SRHS 8-1; and most recently captured an 8-2 victory from the hosting Lawrenceburg Tigers to currently stand at 3-0 in conference action and 4-2 overall.
Eagle pitching has been pretty solid for the most part to date. Senior Alex Schoettmer went three 2/3 innings against Switzerland County, facing 17, while allowing just hits, one run and no walks and producing 7 Ks. Senior Eagle teammate Dominique Noerman came on for the last 1-1/3 of the five-inning game facing five batters with zero runs, no hits, a walk, and fanning two. Against the neighboring South Ripley Raiders on April 17, senior Eagle Schoettmer went the full seven innings, facing 25 Raider at bats, allowing two hits and a run, while delivering 17 Ks in an 8-1 victory. Senior Eagle Norman went the full seven innings from the mound for JCD in their 8-2 Lawrenceburg battle victory on Friday night, April 18. He faced 31 batters, allowed just three hits, two runs, neither earned allowed four walks and delivered 5 Ks.
