Wm. Tiny Hunt Award and Girls Basketball Excellence Awards presented

As a part of the 2017-18 final meeting between South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del Sports Editor Gary Franklin of Ripley Publishing Co. Inc., made award presentations during the halftime break of the JV contest.

Sports Editor Gary Franklin was honored to present on behalf of Ripley Publishing Co. Inc. the 26th Annual Girls Basketball Excellence Award to JCD Lady Eagle senior Lilly Simon, and the 37th Annual William (Tiny) Hunt Memorial Boys Basketball Excellence Award to SR Raider Dillan McQueen. An earlier presentation of the Co-37th Boys Award was made at Milan High School to Milan Indian senior Zac Minnich.
The 26th Annual Ripley Publishing Co. Inc. Girls Basketball Excellence Award was awarded to Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle senior Lilly Simon. Lilly is the daughter of Nick and Jenny Simon.
Following that presentation, the first ever Co-William (Tiny) Hunt Memorial 37th Boys Basketball Excellence Award was presented to South Ripley Raider senior Dillan McQueen. Dillan is the son of Stephanie McQueen. To be eligible, all senior boys and senior girls basketball players in good standing among the Jac-Cen-Del Eagle, Milan Indian and South Ripley Raider squads are put on a ballot to be voted on by coaches and media with the winner presented the award.
Balloting found Milan Indian senior Zachariah Minnich named one of two selected 37th Annual William (Tiny) Hunt Memorial Co-37th Boys Basketball Excellence Award earners of 2018. Zac is the son of Mike and Pam Minnich.
