Nathan Paul “Nate” Christman

Nathan Paul “Nate” Christman, age 36, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of Switzerland County, entered this life on February 12, 1981, in Madison, the loving son of Kevin Wayne Christman and Debbie Lynn (Meisberger) Allen. He was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1999 graduate of the Switzerland County High School where he was the star basketball player and golfer. Nate attended the Manchester University for a semester and transferred to Purdue University where he studied landscaping for three years.

Nate was united in marriage on July 19, 2008 to Inez Beckwith and to this union arrived a daughter, Sierra Blaze and a son, Clayton Hunter to bless their home. Nate was employed as an equipment operator for LG&E Power Plant in Trimble County, Kentucky, for six months. He was also employed at the Payson, Arizona Golf Course for two years. Nate enjoyed farming the Christman Family Farms. Nate was employed as a landscaper for Bath Nursery in Fort Collins, Colorado, for six months. He resided most of his life in the Switzerland County community and for the past nine months in the Fort Collins, Colorado community. Nate was raised in the Switzerland Baptist Church and attended The Grove Christian Church in Fort Collins, Colorado. Nate enjoyed spending time with his kids and his family, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and playing sports.

Nate passed away with his loving family by his side at 4:53 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado.
Nate will be deeply missed by his children, Sierra Blaze and Clayton Hunter Christman of Laramie, WY; his mother and stepfather, Debbie Lynn (Meisberger) and Bert Allen of Vevay; his father, Kevin Wayne Christman of Madison; his stepmother, Terrie (Sutton) Christman of Madison; his brother, Matt Christman and his wife, Jessi and their son, Connor of Bedford, KY; his half brother, Tyler Christman of Bedford, KY; his half sister, Bethany Christman of Louisville, KY; his maternal grandmother, M. Maxine (Haas) Meisberger of Madison; his paternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Wanda (Scudder) Christman of Vevay; his maternal aunt and uncle, Denise and Gregg Brown of Mason, OH; his paternal aunts and uncles, Keith Christman and his fiancée, Tara Richmond of near Canaan, and Kathy and Danny Covington of Vevay; his cousins, Travis Brown of West Chester, OH, Zach Brown of Columbus, OH, Erica Soule and her husband, Lucas of Madison, Erin Jackson of Vevay, Lacey Johnson and her husband, Jake of Bedford, KY, Dustin Christman and his wife, Megan of Milton, KY, Lisa Ahluwalia and her husband, Shilpi of New Hyde Park, NY and Lesley Covington of New York, NY and his several others cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Chester Allen Meisberger, who died February 27, 2012.

Graveside Services will be conducted Monday, September 11 at 10 a.m., at the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421 Madison, Indiana 47250. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Switzerland County High School Gymnasium, 1020 West Main Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. In lieu of flowers, the family ask to please make donations in memory of Nate to the Sierra and Clayton Christman Education Fund % Debbie Allen. Cards are available at the funeral home. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Madison, are entrusted with arrangements.

Cletus Struckman

Cletus Struckman, 71, of Milan, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 4, 1946, in Milan, the son of Roy and Virginia (Dennis) Struckman. On October 22, 2005, he married his loving wife, Marilyn Sue Michel, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Cletus is survived by his sons: Richard Struckman and wife Michelle of Westport, Michael Struckman of Versailles, Jonathan Struckman and wife Becky of Osgood, David Struckman and wife Lacy of Milan and Cory Fletcher and wife Mara of Batesville; daughters, Lisa Nethery of Wisconsin, Kerri Eckstein of St. Leon, and Jodi Williams and husband Jerry of Milan; son-in-law, Kerry Eckstein of St. Leon; brothers, Paul Struckman and wife Wilma of Osgood, Clifford Struckman and Leroy Struckman and wife Joanne both of Milan; sister, Susie Johnson of Milan; 34 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandchild.

Cletus graduated from Versailles High School in 1965. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Milan, where he served as a trustee. Cletus accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized by Pastor Harris Long. He loved his church family very much. Cletus also assisted with the audio at church services and was very instrumental in making the annual Ice Cream Social a success.

Cletus was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving for four years. He was a member of the Versailles American Legion Post No. 173. While being a lifelong farmer and growing up on the farm, Cletus was also a television repairman. Prior to owning and operating Clete’s TV and Antenna Service, where he sold and repaired televisions and installed antennas, he had formerly worked at Miller TV in Osgood, Ammermans TV in Sunman, Service Central in Versailles and Myers TV and Appliance. Cletus enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing, driving his mustang convertible and relaxing on his front porch. He also loved to travel. Clete and Marilyn took many great trips together, including traveling to Italy to visit their grandson, Kody and wife, Jessica. He also enjoyed western movies and musicals. Cletus loved his family and cherished the time he spent with all of them, especially his grandchildren. He also leaves behind his dogs, Puggles and Sadie.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 8 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, 707 S. Main St. in Milan, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Milan, 112 S. Main St. in Milan. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Interment will be at Mud Pike Cemetery in Ripley County, with military graveside rites. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Thomas B. Krumm

Thomas B. Krumm, of Cincinnati, Ohio, beloved husband of Mary O. Krumm (née O’Connor) for 52 years. Loving father of Bob (Cathy), Joe (Christina Martich) Krumm, Karen (Scott) Stringer, Nancy (Marc Richardson) Krumm Richardson and Ken (Carol) Krumm. Devoted grandfather of Caroline, Connor, Henry, Sophie, Eliza Krumm, Ben, Jonathan, Andrew Stringer, Alex, Isabella Richardson and Lily Hibner. Dear brother of Julie (Tom) Kinarney, Carolyn (Dave) Naas, Ray (Linda), Fr. John Krumm and the late Richard and Deacon Bill (Mary Ann) Krumm. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 76 years of age.

Tom was born in Steubenville, Ohio and raised in Dayton. He was a veteran of the Ohio Air National Guard from 1963 to 1969 where he was a rigger and an aerial refueler in support of operations in Vietnam and in Germany during the Cold War. A graduate of Chaminade (Dayton) High School and of the University of Dayton, he was a CPA and a longtime employee of Arthur Andersen and the Foster Transformer Company. He and his wife retired to their farmhouse in Friendship, where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends in idyllic surroundings. He was chairman of the Friendship Village Association, was a member of the Ripley County Historical Society, the National Muzzleloaders Rifle Association, and American Legion Post 247. He was an active member St. Dominic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, St. John’s Church in Osgood and St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon.

Visitation is on Thursday September 7 at Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., Cincinnati, OH, from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday September 8 at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 5222 North Bend Rd., at 11 a.m., with luncheon immediately following.
