The 2017 Milan High School football season has much in their favor with Head Coach Ryan Langferman again at the helm. The opening night’s varsity football season action at MHS on Friday, August 18, against the visiting Rushville Consolidated High School found the Indians up for the task, securing a 52-27 victory, but not immediately.
The tribe managed to take the lead 8-7 by the quarter break but found themselves on the short side of the scoring, 8-13, at the halftime break.
Returning to the field, greatly motivated, Coach Langferman’s tribe commenced to dominate adding 24 points while restricting the Lion lot to 0. Now heading into the fourth and final period of play, the Indians added another 20 points to their total and only relented to give up seven to Rushville.
By a final game tally of 52-27, the Milan Friday night football faithful found a breath of fresh air to open their new season grandly.
