Over July 21-22 the Milan Indians Archery Team competed at the NASP World Tournament in Orlando, Florida. Milan had 15 archers that participated out of the qualifying team of 24. The Tribe performed well at each competition, improving their scores compared to last season. Last year at the World Tournament in Myrtle Beach, Florida, Milan had a total team score of 3,093, while this year’s team effort produced a score of 3,217.
“The range officials commented on the excellent behavior and politeness of our archers on range, making us proud,” stated Coach Rhea Miller. Coaches Rhea Miller, Mike Allen, Marvin Hacker, and John Garner would like to thank the archers for their dedication to the team over this 2017 season. It was a long season and we had great participation from our archers throughout,” stated Coach Miller.
The coaches also expressed a big thank-you to the archer’s parents (and support network) for ensuring the archers made it to practices and local competitions, as well as the major competitions of State, Nationals and Worlds. Coach Miller added, “We Milan coaches look forward to seeing all their current archers (and new ones) this coming season!”
