Beach pulling team ‘Gets ’er Done’ with two horse power!

Danny Beach, 62-year-old Ripley County native of Holton, is relatively new in the horse-pulling game, having only pulled for about three years. However, in recent competitions, he has finished first four times and placed second one time. Beach works his Belgium team everyday for about three hours!

Pictured left, Danny Beach and his pulling horses, Prince and Jerry, have placed first in several Indiana competitions.


His horses names are Prince, who is an eight-year-old gelding weighing 2,500 lb., and pulling mate Jerry, a nine-year-old gelding weighing 2,600 lb. It is estimated that Beach has traveled around 5,000 miles with his team over Indiana and Kentucky with current plans to pull at the Indiana State Fair on August 8, at Greensburg Power of the Past Show, August 19, and September 30 at Brookville. Danny’s son, Justin Beach, who is a barrel racer, remains under a doctor’s care with injury to his hand; so, his barrel racing ventures are slowed while in repair. Many may know the Danny Beach Family Farms as the hosts for cycle and quad circuit races in the past
