Osgood woman among those arrested in Oldenburg drug raid

A drug raid at an Oldenburg home in the early morning hours of Friday, June 30, saw several arrested, and among those a woman from Osgood. The raid was the result of an ongoing investigation.
According to information from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from their department, along with officers from the Indiana State Police executed a warrant at 22181 Main Street, Oldenburg, which was occupied by six adults. A search of the residents resulted in a number of drugs found along with drug related items and all six were taken into custody.
Kayla Marie Mains, 22, Osgood, was one of the occupants of the home and was charged with Possession of a Legend Drug/Level 6 Felony; Possession of Marijuana/ Class B Misdemeanor/ Possession of Paraphernalia/Class C Misdemeanor; and Maintaining a Common Nuisance/Level 6 Felony.
Others who were there included Kenneth Bradford James Throop, 24, Batesville, who was charged with the same counts as Mains. Christina Marie West, 31, Oldenburg, was charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance/Level 6 Felony and Possession of Legend Drug/Level 6 Felony. Hope A. Winkelman, 40, Brookville, was charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance/Level 6 Felony; Possession of Cocaine/Level 6 Felony; Possession of Legend Drug/Level 6 Felony; Possession of a Syringe/Level 6 Felony; and Possession of Paraphernalia/Class C Misdemeanor.
Raymond James Curtis, 29, West Harrison, was at the residence and was in probation violation on a felony arrest warrant out of Hamilton County, Ohio. He was additionally charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance/Level 6 Felony; Possession of Cocaine/Level 6 Felony; Possession of a Legend Drug/Level 6 Felony; and Possession of Paraphernalia/Class C Misdemeanor.
Adam Dale Sams, 39, Oldenburg, was charged with Maintaining a Common Nuisance/Level 6 Felony and Possession of a Legend Drug/Level 6 Felony.
All were taken to the Franklin County Jail where they had to post a $5,000 cash/surety bond. If convicted of a Level 6 Felony, each suspect could face up to 2½ years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
Rabbit Hash String Band to perform in Friendship
Now that the 4th of July is over continue celebrating by coming down to Friendship on Saturday, July 8, for the annual Village Picnic at the Old Mill Campground. The free-will-donation dinner of barbeque, baked beans and cole slaw will be served starting at 4 p.m. until the food is gone. “The Rabbit Hash String Band” will be playing during dinner until whenever they get tired!
The Baking Contest sponsored by The Friendship State Bank. Cash prizes will be given in three categories: cakes, pies and youth; so, drop off desserts between 9 a.m. and noon at the red building.
The silent auction will offer many wonderful items donated by the generous merchants, who have supported the event over the years. There will be a scavenger hunt along with face painting for the kids.
