Elation encircled the camp as Kyla and Impulsive Ben have once again performed to earn an invitation to the 2017 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Youth World Show exhibition competition in Oklahoma City on August 4 – 11. Class sizes last year ranged from 122 – 168 in each of the level of competition stated Bonnie. On June 11, Kyla and Impulsive Ben competed at the Indy Circuit and State Show. “Kyla competed beyond anything I would have ever expected in a crowd of the top horses in the country,” stated Bonnie.
Bonnie went on to say, “Winning the Circuit Award in Showmanship out of 27 fierce competitors was amazing, as well as hanging in for 3rd position in the All-Around. Our show family is truly precious.”
This just in . . . Kyla is now in the nation’s top 10 AQHA 18U Showmanship! These rankings are published by AQHA from January 1, 2017 to date. Kyla is the daughter of Matt Jeffries and Bonnie Laker Jeffries and is a South Ripley Lady Raider who will return to SRHS as a freshman this fall.
