Ruth Hunger
Ruth A. Senger Hunger, 90, of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Dillsboro. She was born Sunday, September 5, 1926 in York Township, Aurora, the daughter of the late Lee L. Senger and the late Hilda Margaret Zimmerman Senger.
Ruth worked for Teaneys Grocery for five years and Schenley for nine years before moving to becoming an Inspector for Thatcher Glass MFG, retiring after over 30 years of service. Ruth was an Aurora High School graduate of 1944. She was a life time member of St John’s Lutheran Church Aurora and also attended grade school at St. John Lutheran School.
Surviving are children, Carolyn (late Daniel) Ann Davis Harcourt of Dillsboro, Karen (Eddie) Marie Sharp of Harrison, OH, Robert L. (Pat) Hunger of Moores Hill; brother, Alvin L. (Darlene) Senger of Aurora; grandchildren, Daniel Walter Harcourt II of Schaumberg, IL, Jason E Sharp of Ross, OH, Jessica Padgett of Akron, OH, Lyndsay Rensing of Houston, TX, Mariah Hunger of Lawrenceburg; great grandchildren, Addyson Padgett, Taylor Sharp, Gabriel Rensing and Julienne Rensing; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Dewey W. Davis, Norman C. Hunger and Edward P. Kuhlman and sister Griselda Baum.
Friends will be received 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 10 at the St. John Lutheran Church, 220 Mechanic Street, Aurora. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., following visitation, also at the church, with Pastor Edward Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, IN 47001. Richard W. Kocher
Richard W. Kocher, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at University Heights Health and Living Community in Indianapolis. He was born at Indianapolis on September 20, 1929, the son of Richard and Elizabeth Wright Kocher. He married Irene Watts on April 16, 1960 and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2013. Survivors include one brother James Kocher of Indianapolis, and one sister Bessie Allison of Indianapolis and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Kocher was an Air Force Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict, and also a retired Fireman of The Marion County Fire Department of 29 years. Richard was a beloved car enthusiast, Dick and Irene loved to get in the car and travel all over the country and visit all the little towns of America.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with his brother James Kocher officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Versailles American Legion in care of the funeral home.
