Mildred Jane (Furst) Judd

Mildred Jane (Furst) Judd, 76, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Holton, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born November 18, 1940 in North Vernon, the youngest of six children born to John and Bessie (Rea) Christian. On April 5, 1958 she married Jack H. Furst in North Vernon, and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2009.

Mildred was a devoted Christian and was a member of New Life Church in North Vernon and The Haven Church of God in Winter Haven, Florida.
On April 16, 2011 she married Aaron Judd in Lakeland, Florida and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Aaron Judd of Lakeland, Florida; her son, Jack R.(Sherri) Furst of Milton; her daughter, Kelley Furst of Indianapolis; her stepchildren: Lindsey Judd of Lakeland, FL, Dena (Craig) Conatser of Bradenton, FL, Mark (Kim) Judd of Swainsboro, GA; a sister, Betty (Eugene)Sexton of North Vernon; eight grandchildren: Jacklynn Scott of Centerville, OH, Christie (Chris) Stucker of Canaan, Michael Furst of North Vernon, Toni (Shane) Peterson of Vevay, Edward (Erin) Holler II of Madison, Mindy Furst of Colorado and Rachel Furst of Milton; fourteen great grandchildren: Chandler and Brady Scott; Brenden, Belle, Kaitlyn and Cooper Stucker; Hunter, Mikailah, Gage and Georgia Peterson; Katlyn and Leslie Furst; Cali Holler and Meredith Webb; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie Christian; her husband, Jack H. Furst; her son, Randy Furst; a grandchild Jamie Holler; four brothers: Richard, John, Charlie and James Christian.

A funeral service for Mrs. Judd will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with Pastor Billy Bamberg officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery in Holton.

Ronald C. “Ron” Bonnlander

Ronald C. “Ron” Bonnlander, 84, of Milan, passed away at Ripley Crossing on Monday, February 20, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with burial following in New Craven Cemetery south of Milan. John Busek, of Elrod, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at his residence. Arrangements are pending at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan.


Marie A. Eisert

Marie A. Eisert, 89, of Milan, passed away at her home with her family by her side, Monday, February 20, 2017. Marie was born Monday, January 23, 1928 in Sunman, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Stahle) Grossman. Marie married Anthony “Tony” Eisert August 7, 1948 and he preceded her in death January 27, 2007.

Marie was a homemaker and a teachers aid for 21 years. She was a long time member of the St. Pius Catholic Church, and later St. Charles Church, past County Trustee, and very active in stopping the expansion of the landfill. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, playing board games, quilting, traveling and spending a lot of her time with her family and grandchildren.

Marie is survived by sons: Terry (Ann) Eisert of Cincinnati, Ohio; Michael (Lori) Eisert of Milan; daughter: Kimberly (Donald) Barton of Milan; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers: Kenneth Grossman and Calvin Grossman.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 25 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Rosary with be Friday, February 24, at 4:45 p.m. Visitation will also be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan and also Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Harold “Bub” Stout

Harold “Bub” Stout, 83, of Versailles, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born in Portville, New York on August 2, 1933, the son of Harold and Josephine Garey Stout.

Survivors include one son, Bill Stout of Cincinnati; one daughter, Beth (David) Fleming of Holton; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Garey Stout of Elmira, New York; four sisters, June Stout and Genny Houck both of Horseheads, New York, Mary Jackson of Tempe, Arizona, and Beverly Torrance of Dunkirk, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia Stout.

Mr. Stout was a 1951 graduate of Horseheads High School in New York. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War where served on the USS Montrose. For service to his country, Mr. Stout received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. In civilian life Harold was an engineer working for Owens-Illinois Glass which he retired from in 1992. Harold was a member of the Versailles American Legion.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Ty Choate of the Hopewell Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of services. Burial will follow at a later date. Memorials may be given to Operation Christmas Child in care of the Hopewell Baptist Church.


Betty Jean Damm

Betty Jean Damm, age 82, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Services will be all in one day, Saturday, February 25 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Osgood. Calling will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m. with the funeral starting at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Osgood. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice.
