Sometimes the chickens are counted before the hatching of the eggs has taken place. Such could be the similar driving force in the result of the 0-7 South Decatur Cougars recent battle with the hosting South Ripley Raider varsity boys basketball team on Saturday night, December 16, as the Cougars won the game on a last second 3 pointer in regulation action, 43-40. Despite a 30 point joint scoring effort by senior Raiders Dillon McQueen with 21 and Zach Pickett with 9, SR could not put the Cougars away. The loss left SR at 4-3 on the season while giving SD their only victory, for 1-7.
