Event pays reverence to God, Country and our Veterans

With prayers for no rain and sunny days answered, the First Points event for the 2018 VTPA, (VINTAGE TRACTOR PULLING ASS'N.) Inaugural Season was held on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, at Kev's Field of Dreams, Versailles. However, no rain also allowed farmers to get back into their fields for harvesting as well, likely reducing the number that would have been their to pull. With both the Friday and Saturday opening to this special Inaugural VTPA Series event centered around Veterans Day, the opening also included the honoring of our Veterans via a visual presentation made by US Navy Veteran, Richard Harsna, honoring all the men and women of all branches of service to our Armed Forces.
TWO TRACKS!
Kevin Menchhofer and crew had worked hard in preparation to host the big inaugural VTPA Pulling Series two-day event, which included the adding of an outside pull site. The VTPA Inaugural Series event got underway with pre-registration action on Thursday evening from 4-7 PM, and again on Friday morning with registration and weigh-in action by 7 AM. Temps over the two days of action ran in the low 20's to low 30's both days. The first day opening drivers' meeting and ceremony was held near the 9:30 AM mark with action on the dual tracks getting off and running by 10:30, where action continued to approximately 10:30 PM. Saturday's opening followed the same routine with the exception of the moving of all 48 scheduled classes for the day's pulls slated to run on the inside track. Again off and pulling near 10 AM and continuing through until around 9PM.
Response from across the country answered the call to compete in this Inaugural opening day event for the Vintage Tractor Pullers Assn. Series which included entrants from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Washington State, Minnesota, Michigan, New York, New Hampshire, Tennessee and more. The Friday & Saturday Pulling action included: Multiple Speed, Tire configurations and weight classes.
