Bernice Walsh
Bernice Walsh, 72, of Versailles, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison. She was born in Cincinnati on April 16, 1944, the daughter of Ivie and Martha Anderson Pulley. She was married to Lloyd Walsh on October 13, 1961 and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lisa (John) Clark of Greendale, Kim (Patrick) Cornett of Aurora, and Raven Walsh of Dillsboro; 10 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; one sister Donna Briggs of Houston, Texas; also her mother-in-law Mrs. Ruth Walsh of Holton.
Mrs. Walsh was a 1962 graduate of Versailles High School and in 1961 was crowned Miss Versailles State Park. She drove a school bus for Aurora Elementary School and South Dearborn High School over the course of 20 years, including running the route to the Career Center in Versailles. Her hobbies included her family and she enjoyed visiting flea markets. Over the course of their marriage she and Lloyd traveled in 49 of the 50 states and she enjoyed pampering her dog and her buddy “little girl”. Bernice was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 5 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Mike Cantrell of the Versailles Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
