As the only two senior members of the 2016 Milan Indians Boys Fall Tennis Team, led by Head Coach Zach Wade, Jacob Laub and Jacob Burton will remember their final season representing the home team on newly resurfaced courts. This is something only few and far between can attest to over their athletic careers in local sports activity.

Milan’s tennis team players will reap the rewards of solid footing and the pride of a very sharp, newly resurfaced home Milan High School tennis court completely relined!
If half the battle to a good team is solid leadership from someone that earns respect from his players, Coach Wade ranks high. Knowledgeable, understanding, serious but willing to have fun in the process. Recent activity included a match meeting at Milan High School against the visiting Southwestern Hanover Rebels on September 13.
During opening action, Milan pitted Peyton Cann in #1 singles, Jacob Laub in #2 singles, Carter Wade in #3 singles, Jordan Burton and Brent Quatman in #1 Doubles and Ethan Honnert and Cameron Henkel in #2 Doubles competition.
A brief summary of the Indians season, following their competition matches against the hosting South Dearborn Knights on Monday evening, September 19, revealed that Milan was 5-8 on their season, with wins over sectional opponents South Dearborn and Lawrenceburg. Coach Wade added, “We’ve also beat Trinity Lutheran in our Conference Tourney.”
The tribe is proud to have four All-Conference members. They are Peyton Cann, Brent Quatman, Ethan Honnert and Carter Wade. Indian seniors Jacob Burton and Jacob Laub were honored courtside on September 14, as they hosted the Franklin County Wildcats. The tribe has yet to face the East Central Trojans on Wednesday, Sept. 21 and the Greensburg Pirates next Tuesday, September 27, before participating in IHSAA Boys Tennis Sectional Tournament action at South Dearborn High School.
