When father and son pull to first place victories in front of the home crowd, visitors and competitors from around the country think that is an awesome thing! That is exactly what Ripley County’s own Chris Linville and son Zach did during the Annual F.A.R.M. Club’s weekend Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series event on Saturday night, June 25, at the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood, resulting in two for two Class victories of the six events held.

Osgood’s Zach Linville’s pull of 331.31 on his 4320 John Deere “The Only Way I Know” captured a first-place finish.
A family of pullers and givers, Chris and Zach weren’t the first of the family to pull off wins on that day. Father and grandfather Roger Linville ventured to Princeton, Ind., to claim two class victories, before the night pulls began in Osgood, on his trusty antique Ford pulling tractor. First to grab some green and a bit of well-deserved glory, including bragging rights between Chris and Zach, was dad Chris with his pull of 308.03 on his 4320 John Deere called “Old School” in the Outlaw Super Stock Tractor Class.
