In the 50th Annual IHSAA Baseball Tournament, veteran baseball Coach David Bradshaw has again led his Class 1A Jac-Cen-Del Eagles to another Regional round opportunity. This time advancing over the South Decatur Cougars by a final count of 10-2 in opening tournament action kicking off at 11 a.m. and in the nightcap, the Hauser Jets 6-0 in the championship game.

Eagle senior Tyler Huff delivers up a seven inning, 6-0 shutout victory over the Hauser Jets for a Sectional #60 Championship Title. Huff manned shortstop for their 10-2 game one win over South Decatur.
Pitching full seven inning games for Eagle victories were seniors: Allen Troy in game one and for the championship title senior Tyler Huff, with junior Reuben Benham manning the catchers position for both games. There was no rain, but enough perspiration to make a swimming pool; however, the Eagles stayed their course thanks largely to some refreshment supplied by some of the team players parents, along with plenty of fluids. There was a scare right before the championship as warm-ups resulted in first baseman Michael Schmidt rolling his ankle; however, a quick-tape job and all was back on track with the all systems go signal, and that they did!
In JCD’s opener, the South Decatur Cougars tried to roar, but the Eagles held them to a mere purr at 10-2. The Hauser Jets likewise desired to roar but found the Eagles snuffing out their hopes to claim the prize with a shutout loss of 6-0. The Eagles now advance to face another catlike outfit at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, in the 2016 IHSAA Class 1A Baseball Regional #15 action against the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars at Morristown High School. Again failing to take into consideration the triumph of recent Eagles baseball teams, JCD’s high school graduation is set on Regional baseball action Saturday, at 2 p.m. at the JCDHS gymnasium. Hence the team has not only a baseball Regional to think about, but a trip back to Osgood for graduation as well and when they win the morning contest, another trip back to Morristown for the championship contest that evening. The game originally set for 11 a.m. was moved up to 10 to give a little more time for the teams senior members to return to Osgood for their graduation.
