The IHSAA Class 1A and ORVC Conference foes, Jac-Cen-Del and Madison Shawe, clashed in back-to-back evening varsity softball competition on May 3 and May 5, which resulted in five inning run rule victories for the Lady Eagles. A 12-1 conclusion of the slated battle held at Shawe Memorial on May 3, over the Lady Hilltoppers was followed by an 18-8 victory in the game hosted at Jac-Cen-Del by the Lady Eagles.

Pitching the entire game for the Lady Eagles against the Lady Hilltoppers to a victory at Shawe was senior Lady Eagle Andrea Adams. That effort was followed the very next night with Adams who was only allowed to pitch two innings due to the number of innings allowed by IHSAA rule which resulted in an injured Lady Eagle lead pitcher Morgen Carroll stepping in and sealing the deal with a back to back routing of the Lady Hilltoppers.
With the duties at the mound assigned to senior Andrea Adams in their slated battle against the Hauser Lady Jets at Hauser High School, sophomore Carroll, the main pitcher for the Lady Eagles, met with injury while playing third base.
That unforeseen injury has resulted in only minimal pitching for the team since. Jac-Cen-Del Athletic Director Mark Meyer informed JCD ball teams that time is running very short for spring sports being completed due to the nearly continual rain-outs of scheduled games. Non-conference JCD games have been suspended so that needed conference games might be played at any field, even at available local neutral sites that are on game night and in good enough shape to get in the required ORVC conference games.
