Lola Atkinson
Lola Atkinson, of Sunman was born on February 28, 1941 in Tell City, the daughter of Homer and Vivian Turner Williams. She married George Atkinson on April 20, 1957 and he preceded her in death. Lola’s life was all about her family, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. On Monday, April 18, 2016, at the age of 75, she passed away at Heritage House of Greensburg.
Those surviving who will cherish Lola’s memory include her daughters, Rhonda (Kenny) Watts of Sunman, and Lisa (Tim) White of Ridgecrest, CA; son, George “GJ” Atkinson of Bozeman, MT; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Amelia Short, Carlene Riehle, Martha DeHoff, all of Sunman, and April Dickman of Batesville. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Dennis Williams.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 22 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, Sunman. Services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. Marion Webster Marsh
Marion Webster Marsh, 91, of Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Marion was born on April 12, 1925, in Versailles, the son of George Edwin and Lillie (Gray) Marsh.
After graduating from New Point High School in 1943, Marion joined the Marines, serving during WWII. After his time in the service, he came back and married Helen Hopkins in Cherry Point, NC on February 11, 1950. He worked as janitor at the Greensburg High School and a meter reader for Indiana Gas for many years and as a farmer for 21 years. Marion recently became a member of the Sandcreek Baptist Church and loved cutting wood.
He is survived by several nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters: Geneva Piles, Mable Jackman, Claira Pavey, and Eileen Ewing, and three brothers: Vernon, Lee and Dallas Marsh.
There will be a private graveside funeral service held at the Tanglewood Cemetery in Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur County Animal Shelter. Online condolences may be made to the family at

E. Dale Owens, 69, of Osgood, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, April 22 at Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23 at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Perseverance Cemetery near Osgood.
