Borgman and Day win basketball excellence awards
JCD honors winter athletes at awards program

Jac-Cen-Del Eagles winter sports athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters gathered in the JCDHS gym on Tuesday evening, March 29, for the annual awards and recognition program. Jac-Cen-Del AD Mark Meyer opened the evening’s activities with a 6 p.m welcome to the junior high program attendees with many thank-yous to those who had helped to once again make JCD sports a positive venture which was followed by the award presentations.

At the onset of the high school awards program, a special presentation followed, as Sports Editor Gary Franklin of Ripley Publishing Co. Inc. presented the prestigious annual Wm. (Tiny) Hunt Memorial Basketball Excellence Award to Eagle senior Evan Borgman, followed with the presentation of the Ripley Publishing Co. Girls Basketball Excellence Award to Lady Eagle senior and IHSAA Class 1A State Champion team member Jordan Day. The annual awards are given to an active senior boy and girl ball team member from either Jac-Cen-Del, Milan or South Ripley and is determined by a voting process.
