Irene Adams Dart
Irene Adams Dart, 87, of Deputy, formerly of Versailles, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Thornton Terrace in Hanover. She was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on November 12, 1928, the daughter of Forest and Martha Meaders Hamblin. She was married to Edward Adams on May 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2001. She was married to Robert Dart on October 20, 2001 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son David (Penny) Adams of Brownsburg; two daughters Janice (George) Franz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Ellen (Mike) Gross of Milton, Kentucky; one stepdaughter Debbie (Jeff) Arnold of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three stepsons Roger (Chris) Dart of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ron (Sherry) Dart of Paris Crossing, and Rob (Angel) Dart of Seymour; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother Harold (Glenda) Hamblin of Burlington, Kentucky; one sister Jean Kieffer of Versailles. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Virginia Graves.
Mrs. Dart was a 1947 graduate of New Marion High School. She was a self-employed beautician in Versailles for several years and was also a homemaker. In later years Irene discovered her talent for painting and had become an accomplished artist and enjoyed knitting as well. Irene was a long-time member of the Dabney Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Michael Bell of the Dabney Baptist Church and Rev. Frank McGee of the North Madison Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

James “Jim” Frakes, 74, of Dillsboro, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home. Doyle Wayne Ehlers, 75, of Madison, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with burial in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
