This fall, Smith completed her four year commitment to the Grace College Lancer tennis team, where the team finished their season with 11 wins, beating Taylor University in the first round of conference playoffs. Grace Lancer Coach Scott Moore was named Crossroads League Coach of the Year. During her college tennis competition, Smith earned the team’s Mental Attitude Award her freshman year and the Most Improved Player Award in her sophomore season. With her tennis program commitment completed, Smith looks forward to graduation in May, when she will graduate with a bachelor's degree and a double major in marketing and facility & event management. Smith is a member of the Business Council where she is a Growth Group Leader, monitoring freshmen through weekly meetings. Many years of hard work paid off for Smith, having played at the high school varsity level for four years under the direction of dedicated Milan Head Tennis Coach Zach Wade.
As a Milan Lady Indian, she led the team at #1 singles, earning the Most Valuable Player Award. Smith extends gratitude for Coach Wade’s successful program and influence delegated over 17 plus years where his dedication has helped her and others advance to college action from their MHS learned tennis skills.
