S.E. Indiana All-Stars participate in ‘Run the Park’

On Saturday, Nov. 12, the Southeastern Indiana All-Stars Cross Country Team runners competed in the USATF Jr. Olympics Cross Country State Meet. They are competing in the series that will conclude with the National Championship on December 10, in Hoover, Alabama. The club has 26 runners from several local schools. These runners throughout the season compete against each other and are now joined together to represent Southeastern Indiana.

The runners include Emma Gausman, Quinten Gowdy, Ben Krieg, Mary Poltrack, and Sarah Poltrack from Batesville; Garrett Ardis, Abigail Bittner, Lauren Greiwe, Scott Jackson, Alex Wedding, and Emilee Wedding from East Central; Shianna Bellingham, Lauryn Dilk and Elyse Hunger from Jac-Cen-Del; Casey Burdette and Jamey Tush from Milan; Madison Rahschulte from Lawrenceburg; Kasey Baker, Peyton Merica and Grant Taylor from Rising Sun; Sam Gabbard from South Dearborn; Megan Cole and Lauren McIntosh from South Ripley; and Conner Skirvin and Bradley Winston from Southwestern.
The Southeastern Indiana All Stars (HS) Girls won their meet with a perfect score over two teams from the Carmel Distance Project. Runners and times were Megan Cole (19:41), Emma Gausman (20:13), Sarah Poltrack (20:39), Lauren Greiwe (20:44), Shianna Bellingham (20:57), Abigail Bittner (21:21), Mary Poltrack (21:28), Elyse Hunger (21:37), Kasey Baker (21:44), Jamey Tush (24:39), and Lauren McIntosh (26:16).
In the high school boys division, the Southeastern Indiana All-Stars Team advanced to the next race as well. Runners and times were Bradley Winston (17:00), Scott Jackson Jr. (17:12), Quinten Gowdy (17:34), Alex Wedding (17:44), Ben Krieg (17:58), Sam Gabbard (18:00), Conner Skirvin (18:20), Garrett Ardis (18:27) and Casey Burdette (20:26).
Runners competing in the younger divisions (without a team) were Peyton Merica (12:07 - 3K), Madison Rahschulte (12:02 - 3K), Joshua Myers (14:50 - 4K), Grant Taylor (15:29 - 4K), Lauryn Dilk (19:04 - 4K) and Emilee Wedding (16:39 - 4K), where Emilee Wedding advanced to the Region 7 Meet by placing 12th in her age group.
The next meet for the running club is this Saturday, Nov. 19, at Northern Illinois University. The runners placing in the top 30 individually or a team that places in the top 5 will advance to the National Meet in December.
