Lifelong Milan Farmer, Walter H. Jordan, 96, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Seasons in Milan. Walter was born in Milan on November 9, 1919, the son of Henry and Elise (Oswald) Jordan. He graduated from Milan High School and married Wilma Ann (Miller) Jordan April 10, 1948 and she preceded him in death November 27, 2012.
Walter was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, had been an active member of the Farm Bureau, and was very active in Republican Party politics, having formerly served as Franklin Township Trustee.
Walter is survived by son Bill (Judy) Jordan of Milan, daughter Linda Jordan of Santa Fe, New Mexico, grandchildren Brian (Ann) Lehnen, Rebecca Lehnen, Sarah Lehnen (Josh) Newman, Stephen Jordan, Robert (Jennifer) Jordan and Thomas Jordan, great grandchildren David, Daniel, Hannah, and Grace Jordan, Nathan Newman and Nik Lehnen, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by brothers Harry and Elmer Jordan, sisters Mildred Schutte, Margaret Kinnett, and Dorothy Jordan.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 23 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Milan, with Pastor Sue Socha officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Floyd M. Spurlock
Floyd M. Spurlock, 79, of Milan, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at his home. Floyd was born Sunday, August 22, 1937 in Clay County, KY the son of M.C. and Mary bell (Davidson) Spurlock. He married Ruby (Short) Spurlock on June 15, 1957 and she survives.
Floyd worked as a farmer for many years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, riding his ATV, pitching horse shoes, playing cards, running his foxhounds for over 60 years, but the most important thing to Floyd was spending time with his family.
Floyd is survived by wife: Ruby Spurlock of Milan; sons: Curtis (Angie) Spurlock of Osgood, Alex (Lisa) Spurlock of Osgood; daughters: Geneva (Mike) Hoagland of Madison, Mary Doll of Versailles, Gracie (Rich) McIntosh of Osgood; brothers: Cecil Spurlock of Milan and Elmer Spurlock of Ohio; sister: Emily Tichenor of Versailles, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lado Jane Lewis, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 27 at 10 a.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will follow in Little Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
