South Ripley Lady Raiders JV win Rising Sun hosted ORVC Tourney

With just seven girls in uniform, the South Ripley Lady Raiders won the ORVC JV Volleyball Tournament. Coached by Ellen Gentry, the team valiantly battled for the title. Rising Sun High School hosted the annual tournament on Saturday, August 18. The four ORVC schools in contention were South Ripley, Milan, Jac-Cen-Del and hosting Rising Sun.

The event found solid competition between the contesting teams. The hosting Lady Shiners opened their first game of the day with a 6-0 run before finally falling 18-25 to Milan. Every game of every match found multiple lead changes, tied scores and unwillingness of players to accept defeat until the final ball hit the floor.
