Lester D. “Chick” Bostic
Lester D. “Chick” Bostic, 84, of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Aspen Place Health Campus. He was born on August 3, 1931 in Holton, the son of Delta and Thelma Bostic.
Lester was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. On July 15, 1961, Lester married Mary Kohrman. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 25 years before retirement and as a greeter at Walmart for ten years. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and was a 50-year volunteer for the Greensburg Fire Department.
Survivors include wife Mary Bostic of Greensburg; daughter Gayle (Jeff) McIntyre of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Lynsi (James) Kirkpatrick, Tyler (Fiancé- Kara Gentry) McIntyre, and Austin “A.J.” McIntyre; two great granddaughters, Jaly and Etta Kirkpatrick; brothers Tom (Linda) Bostic of Columbus and Bob (Melissa) Bostic of Pike Road, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Daryl Bernard Bostic; sister in law Joanie Bostic, and brother Jim Bostic.
A rosary will be prayed at 3:30 pm on Thursday, August 20, followed by visitation from 4-8 p.m. at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Mass will be held on Friday, August 21 at 10 a.m. with a visitation before from 9 a.m. until the Mass at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father John Meyer will be officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Local VFW and American Legion. James Leo Nobbe, 74, of Batesville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Military grave side services will follow at the church cemetery.
