Camille “Mil Mil” Morgan Evans
Miss Camille “Mil Mil” Morgan Evans, age 2 years and 10 months of Versailles, entered this life on December 5, 2012, at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was the loving daughter of Michael Dane Evans and Emily Mae Montgomery. Camille was diagnosed with leukemia on January 14, 2013 and fought a courageous battle with the disease.
Camille loved dancing, painting, drawing, all music, her doggies and directing her family what to do, when to do it and how to do it. She was an avid iPad and iPhone enthusiast. She found great enjoyment in her Binkys and her Baa Baa Baa book. Her favorite colors were pink and purple, she loved to be out and about doing whatever the grown ups were doing. She resided in the Osgood and Versailles communities all of her life. Camille passed from this life after all that was medically possible that could be done for her on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:46 a.m. in the arms of Mama and Dadda.
Camille’s family wishes to acknowledge the community, family and friends for all the love and support provided through Camille’s illness. Also, a special appreciation to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Family for the care and love given to Camille and her family. “A parent holds their child’s hand for a short while and in their hearts forever”.
Camille will be missed by her heartbroken parents, Michael Dane Evans and Emily Mae Montgomery of Versailles; her loving maternal grandparents, Anthony Leo Montgomery and his companion, Lori Findsen of Versailles, Vicki Ann Vandermolen and her husband, Kurt of Indianapolis; her loving paternal grandparents, Greg and Kim Evans of Osgood, Kathleen Steel of Shelton, Washington; her maternal great grandmother, Ruth Anne Halada of Baltimore, Maryland; her paternal great grandparents, Shirley Evans of Bunker, Missouri, David Steele and his wife, Barbara, Miriam True of Joplin, Missouri, John and Sue Burton of North Vernon; her aunts and uncles, Cassandra Montgomery and Tim Buckley of Boston, Massachusetts, Melissa Montgomery of Blue Ash, Ohio, Benjamin and Kirstie Montgomery of El Paso, Texas, Blaine and Jenn Evans of Dayton, Ohio; numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Christian Rainier.
Private graveside services will be held at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with Pastor David Shivers officiating. Thomas Edward “Tom” Livingston, 32, of Ohio formally of Milan, passed away October 8, 2015. Funeral services will be held private for the family. Chandler Matthew Stearns
Chandler Matthew Stearns, 27, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood. He was born at Lawrenceburg on August 2, 1988, the son of Matthew Stearns and Robin Renfro Stearns.
Survivors include his father Matt Stearns of Columbus, his mother and stepfather Robin Stearns and Bobby Walters of Versailles; his companion Abby Kennedy; three brothers Tyler Stearns of Seymour, Jerad Walters and Jordan Walters both of Versailles; maternal grandmother Rosella Trobaugh of Versailles; paternal grandparents Larry and Martha Stearns of North Vernon; four uncles Steve Renfro of Lawrenceburg, Bill Stearns of Madison, and Bob Stearns and Mark Stearns both of Versailles.
Mr. Stearns was a 2007 graduate of South Ripley High School and attended Marian University in Indianapolis. At South Ripley he participated in basketball, baseball, cross country, and track. He was currently employed as a press operator for Impact Forge in Columbus and was a former employee of Columbus Kawasaki. Chandler had also formerly raced the Indiana and Kentucky Motor Cross Circuit.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Rick Burcham officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Amethyst House, Ripley County Humane Society, or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Paul Leonard Palmer
Paul Leonard Palmer, 75, of Hanover, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Hanover Health & Rehab Center, Hanover. He was born October 8, 1940 in Versailles, the son of Harry and Naomi Thomas Palmer.
Survivors include his son, Jeffery L. Palmer of Hanover; his daughters, Nancy Suzanne Palmer of Crothersville; Glenda Rogers of Madison; his grandson, Jeffery Brooks; his brothers, Leroy Palmer and Harry Palmer of both of North Vernon; two sisters, Pauline Rogers of Madison, Vadah Palmer Hawkins of Madison; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Palmer, his mother, Naomi Thomas Palmer, and his daughter, Pamela June Palmer.
Paul was raised in Versailles and attended school there. He was a member of the Concord Wesleyan Church. He was united in marriage to Daisy Caplinger and this union was blessed with one son and two daughters. He was later married to Margaret Marksberry. Paul resided in Madison for 30 years and owned and operated Palmer’s Heating and Cooling. He later moved to Indianapolis and resided there for 30 years and owned and operated an appliance refurbishing business. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with Rev. Wayne Mahoney officiating. Burial will be in the Marble Corner Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation will be Wednesday from Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Haskell Reynolds
Haskell Reynolds, 63, of Milan, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at his home. He was born at Mallie in Knott County, Kentucky on November 7, 1951, the son of Gordon and Melda Johnson Reynolds. He was married to Wanda Inman and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter Crystal Reynolds of Milan; three grandchildren: Johnathon, Billy and Jordan; two brothers: Junior (Janie) Reynolds of Sunman, and Ray (Wanda) Reynolds of Noblesville; five sisters: Pauline Rohrig of Versailles, Margaret Lochard of Milan, Catherine (Maurice) Minger of Milan, Ruth Hankins of Milan, and Sue Reynolds of Michigan. Haskell was preceded in death by his parents, son Johnathon, daughter Stacy and two brothers Robert and Marion.
Mr. Reynolds retired as a foreman from Grade X and the Local Labors Union 741. A celebration of Haskell’s life will be held Friday, October 16 at 3 p.m. at the Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro with Brother Tom Holt Officiating. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
