Alfred F. Young

Alfred F. Young, 89, of Napoleon, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was born near Napoleon on February 3, 1925, the son of Clem and Clara Kohrman Young. He was married to Rita Duerstock on June 15, 1949 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Dale (Becky) Young and Larry (Pam) Young both of Napoleon; two daughters Janice (Kenny) Fry and Nancy (Bob) Obermeyer also of Napoleon; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Arthur (Carol) Young of Greensburg. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law Deborah Young, his grandson Brian Obermeyer, and his brother Raymond Young.

Mr. Young farmed his entire life and was also a former employee of Williamson Heating and Cooling and also Bohn Aluminium, both in Greensburg. He was a 54-year member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at the St. Maurice Catholic Church with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with rosary services at 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Napoleon Fire Department or the St. Maurice building fund in care of the funeral home.

Larry F. Curry

Larry F. Curry, 72, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at his home. He was born at Batesville on April 19, 1942, the son of Halstead and Gladys Monroe Curry. He was married to Nancy Sandman and she survives.

Other survivors include one son, Larry David Curry of Holton; one daughter, Larissa (Chris) Garrett of Versailles; grandchildren, Ashley (Steve) Franklin, Tony (Liza) Lloyd, Janna Lloyd, Suzanne Fiset, Ellianna Waldron, Brittany (Eric) Tunny, Larissa Curry, Alexandra Curry and Douglas Curry; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Curry was a 1960 graduate of Versailles High School. He spent his entire working career as a trucker and was currently employed with Flatland Farms at Rexville. He had also driven for Yelton Trucking in Lawrenceburg, Baylor Trucking in Milan, Robinson & Sons Trucking in Sunman, and was owner and operator of Curry Trucking in Versailles.
A memorial service for Larry will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 1 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Dale Day officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

Kristin J. Duncan (nee Sudia), 48, of Batesville, died July 7, 2014. Services were held Wednesday, July 9 at the Dennis George Funeral Home, Cleves, Ohio; dennisgeorgefunerals.com.
