Coaching duties for South Ripley Raider Bowling Coach Ron Pollard do not stop merely because school is out for the summer. He and son Ron Jr. continue to coach youth throughout the year. The Morris sisters of Greensburg, Adderine and Isabelle, trek every Saturday to Pollard’s Bowl in Versailles to participate in youth bowling program action.
Coach Pollard recently reported Adderine and Isabelle, along with their father, Keith, and stepmother, Sandy, traveled to Toledo, Ohio, where the Ohio State Youth Bowling Championships were being held. Adderine, a Greensburg High School freshman, competed in the ‘C’ Division singles handicap portion of the tournament where she posted a three-game handicap score of 747, which earned her first place. Younger sister Isabelle, a fifth grader at Greensburg, competed in the ‘D’ Division competition where she finished in second place with her handicap score of 748.
Competing in doubles action, the girls finished in sixth place.
Pollard commented, “I am amazed how much success my youth program is having. The scholarship money these kids are starting to earn is amazing.”
The girls will be honored in Columbus, Ohio, sometime in August. Michelle Morris of Milroy is the mother of Adderine and Isabelle.
