The tribe varsity visited neighboring Jac-Cen-Del Eagles on Monday evening, April 21, for baseball action in Osgood.
Senior Eagle pitcher/first baseman Alex Schoettmer was on the mound for JCD and up for the game as results would dictate, striking out 16 of 26 at bats by the Indians over the seven inning haul.

Back row are: MHS Head Baseball Coach Jeff Stutler, Assistant Coach Ken Schmidt, Jon Bixler (10), Jordan Burton (8), Brennan Tinker (15), Shawn Fox (33), Austin Murray (9), Tyler Gauck (17), Jordan Hoegeman (25), and Assistant Coach Mike Curry. Not pictured are Gavin and Patrick Detraz.
Sam Rehn handled the tribe’s obligation at the mound allowing just seven runs on four hits, while fanning three Eagles and allowing just one base runner; however, JCD’s nine hits including four doubles would generate the 7-0 final score at game’s end.
The Indians pressed Eagle Schoettmer and company for a pair of hits and acquired a pair of walks, but JCD managed to cut them short of scoring a run. Two Indian varsity players were unable to attend the contest, Gavin and Patrick Detraz.
The win gave Coach David Bradshaw an overall season record count at 6-2 and a 4-0 against ORVC competition to date.
Eagle senior athletes will join classmates and be gone from the sporting arenas for the rest of the week as of Tuesday, April 22, on the annual JCDHS sponsored senior trip.
