Velma Carrie Lutes

Velma Carrie Lutes, age 86, of Napoleon, entered this life on April 6, 1928, in Ripley County. She was the loving daughter of the late, Bert and Martha Bodenberg Kindelsparker. On April 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Richard Allen Lutes and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1962. Velma died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.

She and her husband were blessed with six sons and one daughter. She was a loving mother and a wonderful homemaker. Velma was also a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Napoleon.

Survivors include sons: Arthur Lutes of Osgood, Karl and Jerry Lutes of Napoleon and Darryl (Beth) Lutes of Napoleon, daughter: Barbara (Robert) Youngman of Napoleon; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Marvin and Danny Lutes. Also, two brothers Charles and Merle Kindelsparker and one sister, Geneva Butz.

Funeral services will be held all in one day, Thursday, April 17, at Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood, with visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. with funeral immediately following. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice or American Cancer Society. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery of Napoleon. Clara Nell Stickelman Caswell

Clara Nell Stickelman Caswell, 84 of Madison, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.

Mrs. Caswell was born in Henry County, Indiana to Opha and Nellie Webster Stickelman. She attended Holton School and grew up in the Dabney area. She married Roy “Pete” Caswell. Clara Nell was a member of the Nebraska, Indiana Church of God.

She is survived by one son, Gary (Peggy) Caswell of Florida and one daughter, Delores (Steve) Barnes of Deputy; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Whitehouse of New Castle; one sister-in-law, Velma Stickelman and one niece, Cynthia Stickelman-Melton, both of Holton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 13 at Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery in Chelsea, Indiana.
