2014 ORVC Fall Sports Awards Banquet

South Ripley High School was the designated Ohio River Valley Conference hosts for the 2014-15 sports season. The seven member schools included Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, Rising Sun, Shawe, Southwestern Hanover, Switzerland County and South Ripley. On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the annual fall awards banquet was once again held in Madison. The awards presentations were made to athletes who had earned All-ORVC status during the fall sports competitions.
Members included Coach of the Year Greg Huntington. The All-ORVC Golf Team included South Ripley Lady Raider McKenzie Black, Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebel Kyla Harsin and Shawe Lady Hilltoppers Megg Hensler, Carson Hambrick and Gabrielle Pawlak, with Hensler earning the ORVC Meet Medalist award.
Champions were Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels with Coach of the Year Chris Johnson. The All-ORVC Volleyball Team named by coach voting included Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle Jordan Day, Milan Lady Indians Emily Fuller and Grace Herzog, South Ripley Lady Raiders Mercedes Bowling and Sidney Steinhauer, Rising Sun Lady Shiners Bailey Baker, Bailee Bostic, Alix Dedreu and Tiffany Vinup, Switzerland County Lady Pacers Eve Galbreath, Kelsi Konkle and Brooke Todd and Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels Kelsi Brierly, Skyla Judkins and Brittany Ralston.
The awards went to Milan Lady Indian Grace Herzog, Rising Sun Lady Shiner Bailee Bostic and Switzerland Co. Lady Pacer Jacqueline Hensley.
The Reserve Volleyball Champs included So. Ripley Lady Raiders with Coach of the Year Robyn Greiwe.
Earning a spot on the All-Conference XC Team as with golf comes from ORVC Meet place of finish. Girls champions were the Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles behind Coach of the year David Bradshaw.
All ORVC 1-12 were Switzerland County Lady Pacer Whitney Schirmer, Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebel Savannah Reuda, Switzerland County Lady Pacer Cameron Ray, Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebel Rebekah Anderson, Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles Kelsey Bowling and Jenna Hughes, Rising Sun Lady Shiner Kasey Baker, Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle Maiah Simon, Rising Sun Lady Shiner Bailey Baker, Shawe Lady Hilltopper Caroline Wehner, Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebel Michaela Mahoney and Rising Sun Lady Shiner Lucy Garrigan.
Awards went to Milan Lady Indian Isabelle Ortt and Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagle Jenna Hughes.
Boys Champions were the Rising Sun Shiners behind Coach of the year Caitlin Sauerhage. All-ORVC 1-12 were Switzerland County Pacer Talen Taylor, Rising Sun Shiner Zach Martini, South Ripley Raider Michael Bradley, Southwestern Hanover Rebel Jayde Ary, Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Rodney Dobbs, Rising Sun Shiner Matt Yocum, Southwestern Hanover Rebel Conner Stewart, Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Christopher Kissel, South Ripley Raider Austin Bradley, Shawe Hilltopper Ethan Goebel, Jac-Cen-Del Eagle Ethan Adams and Rising Sun Shiner Claudio Gallegos.
The award went to SR Raider Michael Bradley.
All-ORVC Boys Soccer champions were the Rising Sun Shiners behind Coach of the Year Mike Seipel. The All-ORVC Soccer team named by coach voting included: Jac-Cen-Del Eagles Tyler Huff, Thiago Kronemberg, Keith Simon and Blake Straub, Milan Indian Billy Love, South Ripley Raider Matthew Boles and Derek Turner, Rising Sun Shiner Tyler Camden, Derrick Eldridge, Tyler Roberts and Jake Uhlmansiek, Switzerland County Pacer Ben Curran, Southwestern Hanover Rebels Gage Hartman, Coleman Jackson, Cameron Rogers and Edi Tovar and Shawe Hilltopper Fernando Castelo and Jack Heitz.
The award went to Rising Sun Shiner Jake Uhlmansiek.
Though gaining popularity, girls soccer has too few schools competing to meet requirement for recognition as an ORVC fall sport.
