Teresa J. Diaz

Teresa J. Diaz, 83, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was born February 24, 1931 in Santiago, Chili, the daughter of the late Luis and Maria (Diaz-Valdez) Araya. Teresa worked as a seamstress at Bonds.

Survivors include her son, Humberto Maturana of West Harrison; two daughters, Maria T. Maturana of Redland, CA, Patricia (Richard) Studt of Sunman; two brothers, Julio Araya of Cincinnati, OH, Jaime Araya of Manaus, Brazil; two sisters, Adriana Araya of Santiago, Chili, Ana Araya of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Maria Araya; husband, Oscar Diaz; and daughter, Marisol (Salvatore) Delpiano.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. www.fitchdenney.com.
