Thompson runs for three TDs in Tribe’s 34-12 win over Cougars

SPORTS EDITOR

At 5' 7" and 155 lbs. on the Tribe's 2014 varsity football roster, Milan Indian junior Michael Thompson (23) is likened to a stick of dynamite on the gridiron. Light his fuse and watch things move. Those things, feet, legs and arms beating a path for yardage and TD's. Thompson brings an added flare of excitement, just waiting for him to explode on the opponents.

Crossing the goal line, Tribe teammates join Thompson (23) in the end zone to celebrate another one of his successful TD runs after he sped past South Decatur defenders. This particular TD breakaway was the first of three secured in his night's effort toward the 34-12 victory.

In the Indians home hosted varsity 34-12 victory over the visiting South Decatur Cougars on Friday, October 3, at MHS, Thompson put three TD scores into the end zone, and his continual threat undoubtedly helped to open the gate for other teammates. Scoring along with Thompson's contribution for the tribe in their absolute victory over the Cougars included a Payton Healy TD, a quarterback Blane Beck rushing TD and four extra point additions off the foot of kicker Caleb Vinup with Sam Layden holding.
