Behind dedicated and expert leadership at pool side from South Ripley Raider Swim Coaches David and Lisa Baugh, the fortunate 2013-14 team hit the high school swim circuit for the first time in SRHS history.
The Milan High School hosted 3-way girls meet held in the Milan Elementary Natatorium on Thursday evening, November 23, included the East Central Lady Trojans.
Both Milan and East Central are long time school swim team sponsors with South Ripley just breaking the ice to test the waters, so-to-speak, in this the 2013-14 season.
Several of the Raider swimmers have had the opportunity to grow up swimming under Coaches Baugh as members of the "MIST," (Milan Indian Swim Team). a traveling unit that competes at all age levels in the off season.
Adding in passing, many of the Middle School Raiders are waiting in the wings to join the high school team with years of experience in the water behind coaches Baugh while in "MIST" programs.
Whatever the season record for the high school Raider debuting team this season, it is safe to anticipate steady increase in impact they will have as the addition of the younger experienced MIST swimmers join the ranks at the SRHS team level.
Team Scores
The Girls' Only Meet team results found East Central's Lady Trojans scoring 80, Milan's Lady Indians 56 and the South Ripley Lady Raiders 33.
All Lady Raider swimming times were new school setting records as it was the debut for a team. Record setting and resetting will hopefully and most likely be a continual thing as the season advances.
