Patricia Minch

Patricia Minch, 77, of Cross Plains, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at her home. She was born at Carrollton, Kentucky on January 15, 1936, the daughter of Russell and Elizabeth Hambrick. She was married to George Minch on August 28, 1953 and he survives.

Other survivors include one son, Louis (Jenny) Minch of Napoleon; two daughters, Ruth (John) Mann of Osgood and Lori (Jerry) McGuire of Greensburg; nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Buddy Hambrick, and her sister Betty Brunner.
Mrs. Minch was a former employee of US Shoe in Osgood, Ripley Publishing in Versailles, and the Silver Bell Nursing Home in Versailles. She enjoyed her family, playing bingo, and doing puzzles. Patricia was a member of the Cross Plains United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 26 at 12 p.m. at the Cross Plains United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the services at the church. Memorials may be given to the Cross Plains United Methodist Church or the church’s building fund in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.

Evelyn Adeline King

Evelyn Adeline King, 93 of Osgood, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. She was born June 30, 1920 in Osgood. Her parents were Harry and Lulu Allmeroth Graue. Evelyn married Edward Stedman King on November 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1986.

Evelyn had worked for 31 years at Beatrice Foods which had been located in Osgood, retiring in 1975. After her employment with Beatrice Foods, she served as the Osgood Clerk-Treasurer for three years. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a niece, Charlene Ogden of Port City, FL & one sister-in-law, Ilene King of Versailles.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 25, at Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood with burial in the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ “Finks” near Osgood.

Memorials may be given to the St. Peter’s Church building fund. Services were handled by Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood; www.nealsfuneralhome.net.

Virginia Elva Long Vest

Virginia Elva Long Vest, 69, of Madison, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 at The Water’s of Clifty Falls, Madison. She was born October 27, 1944 in New Washington, the daughter of Leslie and Evelyn Laswell Long. She married Robert Edward “Sunny” Vest on November 3, 1962 and he survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Sunny Eugene Vest (Anita) of Madison, Douglas Wayne Vest (Georgia) of Madison, James Edward Vest (Dana) of Versailles and John Richard Vest (Ariel) of Muncie; daughter, Jenny Rebecca Vest of Madison; sister Della Beach of Jeffersonville; brother, Samuel Long (Mary) of Lexington; grandchildren, Jeffery, Jenna, Collin, Gideon, Lindsay, Allyson, John Robert, Alisha, Devin and John Paul; step grandchildren, Taryn, Amanda, Megan, Lindsey, Alex, Peyton, Chris, Josh and Jessica; great grandchildren, Kadence, Camden and Cade; step great grandson, Sawyer; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Everett Long; and sister, Shirley Davis.

Virginia graduated from New Washington High School in 1962. She resided in the Jefferson County area since 1968. She was a 1982 graduate of New Albany School of Nursing. She reitred in 2005 as a licensed practical nurse with the Madison State Hospital. She then worked at area nursing homes and for King’s Daughters’ Hospital as needed. Virginia was a member of the Hopewell Community Church in Milton, Kentucky. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and being with her family.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 24 at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison, with Pastor James Santos, Bro. Dale Day and Pastor L.C. Mcawley officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, near Madison.

Kaitlyn Rose Eaglin

Kaitlyn Rose Eaglin, premature infant, Vevay, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the River View Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may be given to the Kaitlyn Rose Eaglin Memorial Fund, contribution cards are available at the funeral home. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay, is in charge of arrangements.

Craig A. Dey

Craig A. Dey, 63 of Moores Hill, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013. Funeral services will be private for the family. Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill is entrusted with arrangements.

Moneida Byard Dunaway

Moneida Byard Dunaway, 82, of Valrico, Fla. and formerly of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Hospice House in Ruskin, Fla. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 30, 1931, the daughter of Monroe and Lydia Haase (both deceased).

She graduated from Milan High School in 1949. She had owned and operated the Versailles IGA.

Survivors are her husband Earl Dunaway; two daughters, Connie Tewmey of Valrico and Mona Adkins of Sarasota; one sister, Alberta (Otto) Smith of Denver, Colorado; nephews, Dirk Smith of Denver and Eric Smith of Washington, DC; half brother Eddie Haase of California; half sister Gayle Holyoak of Hemet, California; grandchildren, Dane Tewmey, Danielle Davis, Kyle Adkins, Michelle Adkins, and Miles Dyer; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Florida. Memorials may be given to LifePath Hospice Inc, 3725 Upper Creek Drive, Ruskin, FL 33573.

William R. Tindle

William R. Tindle, of Elrod, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born near Vevay in Switzerland County on September 22, 1925, the son of John and Eleanor Gieske Tindle. He was married to Iona Faye Patrick on July 10, 1953 and she survives.

Other survivors include one sister, Marsha Lamson of Vevay; brother-in-law, Thomas Fehrman of Dillsboro, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Donna Jean Fehrman.

Mr. Tindle was a graduate of Aurora High School and worked for 32 years as a maintenance supervisor for the I & M Electric Power Plant in Lawrenceburg. He also was a veteran of the Korean War where he attained the rank of Sergeant in the Army and received the Korean Service Medal with one bronze star. Mr. Tindle was a farmer and a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 25 at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrell officiating. Burial was in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation, Washington Cemetery, or the Versailles Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles was in charge of arrangements.

Dora Eleanor Kibble

Dora Eleanor Kibble, 68, of Rising Sun, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Rising Sun. She was born June 6, 1945 in Centerville, Tennessee, the daughter of Charles W. Kibble and Dorothy Louise Garrett Kibble.

Survivors include four daughters, Lynn Gibson (Bobby) of Florence, Jessica Riedman (Michael) of Osgood, Jenny Calvert (Tom) of Shelbyville, KY, and Debbie Knight (Terry) of North Vernon; three sons, Earl Hopper (Lisa) of Osgood, Jacob Bladen (Anna) of North Vernon and Josh Bladen of Napoleon; grandchildren: Natasha, Earl, Jr, Angel, Justin, Charlie, Brandon, Carrie, Eli, Brady, Kelsey, Destiny, Michael, Dixie, Thomas Franklin, Jr.; great grandchildren: Wayne, Nathan and Aiden; sister, Linda Herin of Florida; two brothers, Larry Kibble of Pennsylvania and Charles Kibble of Alabama; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gabriel Isaac Bladen; her grandson, Robert H. “Bobby” Gibson, Jr., died 2003; and her parents, Charles W. and Dorothy Louise Garrett Kibble.

Dora was raised in Centerville and attended school there. She was employed early in life with the Muscatatuck Developmental Center in Butlerville in the dietary department for several years. She then worked for the Dairy Queen in Rising Sun in dietary. She retired at the age of 62 from the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg.

Dora resided the past 13 years in Rising Sun and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rising Sun. She enjoyed being with her family, working word puzzles books, playing cards and watching the Bengals.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29 at 2 p.m. at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay, with Rev. Jim Jenkins, officiating. Burial will be in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay. Visitation will also be Friday from 12-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
