By the shutout score of 5-0, the hosting Jac-Cen-Del Eagle varsity soccer team diminished the visiting Rising Sun Shiner hopes for a road win at JCDHS on Monday, September 23.
Entering the contest even, the victory might possibly help project one of them to ORVC championship status as the season winds down.
To date, the Eagles have only had the Batesville Bulldogs and the Lawrenceburg Tigers put them in the losers bracket, and neither are in the Ohio River Valley Conference (ORVC).
Following the conclusion of the game, JCD had but four regular season games left in their season's venue:
• September 26, a battle against the South Dearborn Knights at SDHS; a pair of home hosted games at JCDHS against the Shawe Hilltoppers on September 30; against the Southwestern Hanover Rebels on October 3; and finishing with a rival battle at South Ripley HS against the Raiders slated for action on October 4.
The boys IHSAA soccer sectional hosted at Jac-Cen-Del High School are slated for October 9-12. Matches and times TBA .
