Omer Russell Flint

Osgood lost another great veteran on Monday, October 17, 2016. As a proud Vietnam veteran, he had served his country for over twenty years in the United States Air Force.

Following his service career Omer was hired on in Greensburg in the maintenance department for Crown-Zellerbach, which later became known as James Rivers. He retired after nearly 20 years. He was a member of the Osgood Christian Church. Omer was an active member of the Osgood American Legion and the North Vernon Eagles. He had been a past member of the Am-Vets and the VFW. He would smile and wave after he made sure everything was all right. Omer enjoyed camping and fishing along with his wife Mary and earlier on with his children. An animal lover, he enjoyed his cats and dogs. But he mostly just enjoyed tinkering around the house and fixing anything that had broken down. It was said, “It was good to have him around!”
