Off and running, connecting in all gears, the 2013 South Ripley Lady Raider Soccer Team has proudly worked to keep themselves undefeated during their first three matches of the new season.

The most recent outing for the Lady Raiders, a home-hosted match against visiting Silver Creek Lady Dragons on Saturday morning, August 26, resulted in a 1-0 South Ripley victory.

Scoring the only point recorded for the entire game was Lady Raider senior Emily Cumberworth.
Diligently, the Lady Raider defense, led by senior goalie Hayley Fossett’s effort, denied Silver Creek a score for the entire contest.

This year’s Lady Raiders enjoy the stability of returning coaches and seniors on the squad, along with Milan Lady Indian transfer Carah Beck who brings a lot of determination and stamina to the SR squad.
Current action by the team finds them connecting on all cylinders, like a fine-oiled machine. They take their lumps during action and resiliently bounce back to get the job done.

Opening action found the Lady Raiders on the road on August 20 at Batesville High School where they played the Lady Bulldogs to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation.

During SR’s Batesville competition, SR had 9 shots with 5 on goal. Five shots were taken in the first Emily Cumberworthhalf, Cara Beck 2 and Emily Cumberworth 3. Second half stats showed 4 shots: Cara Beck 1, Emily Cumberworth 2 and Marcela Foster 1. A second game of the new season found the hosting Lady Raiders the 7-0 victory over the Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters.
