Naomi Baker
Naomi Baker, 82, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Versailles on August 2, 1930, the daughter of William and Lillian Aikins Thomas. She was married to Hiram Baker on November 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2010.
Survivors include one son Ken (Kim) Baker of Aurora; two grandchildren Phillip (Erin) Baker of Connersville, and Emily (Corey) McDarmett of Madison; great-grandchildren Riley Baker, and Chase, Grady, and Payton McDarmett.
Her parents and her sister Betty Monroe preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baker was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School and also the Indiana Beautician College in Indianapolis. She was a self-employed beautician and had operated shops in Milan and Versailles.
Naomi was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrell officiating. Visitation will also be Friday at the church beginning at 9 a.m.
Memorials may be given to the Versailles Baptist or the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home.
Rea Carroll
Rea Carroll, 92, of Osgood passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was born in the Tanglewood Community near Versailles on July 9, 1920, the son of Orville and Audra Rea Carroll. He was married to Henrietta Moeller on October 25, 1947 and his wife of 65 years survives.
Other survivors include two sons Dr. Michael (Marsha) Carroll of Dayton, Ohio, and Dennis (Debbie) Carroll of Osgood; one daughter Marilyn Carroll of Naples, Florida; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his great-grandson Chase Carroll, and his sisters Margaret Henneke, Mabel Barth, and Jean Chalk.
Mr. Carroll was a 1937 graduate of Osgood High School. He spent his entire life farming and he and Henrietta were well known throughout the state for their herd of Angus shows cattle.
Rea was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood, the American Angus Association, and was a former member of the Farm Bureau.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rosary services at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Robert L. McIntosh
Robert L. McIntosh, 41, of Sanders, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21 at 4 p.m. at the 1st Apostolic Church of Carrollton, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church.

Raymond C. Geisler
C. Raymond Geisler, 85, of Correct passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home. He was born near Madison on August 9, 1927 the son of Freddie and Helen Day Geisler. He was married to Esther Werner on September 18, 1948 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son John (Lisa) Geisler of Benham; one daughter Melissa (Steve) Spencer of Lawrenceburg; daughter-in-law Mary Ann Geisler of Versailles; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons William and Richard Geisler, grandsons Joseph and Brian Geisler, and his sister Eleanor Whitaker.Mr. Geisler was a 1945 graduate of Versailles High School. During WWII he served in the Army for 18 months. For 12 months he served in the Occupational Forces in the Philippines. He spent his lifetime farming and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Olean.
Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Rev. Dennis Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Improvement Fund or the St. Paul Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Hubert L. Jackson
Hubert L. Jackson, 82, of Versailles passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home. He was born near Versailles on November 13, 1930, the son of Marshall and Estella Fox Jackson. He was married to Eva Fern Ricketts at the Tanglewood Baptist Church on October 21, 1950 and she survives.
Other survivors include three granddaughters Dawn (Steve) Powaga of San Francisco, Holly Wehr and her fiancé Jordan Harley of Versailles, and Libby Wehr of Indianapolis; one great-granddaughter Eva Lou Powaga; two brothers Kenneth Jackson of Osgood and Marion (Jaleh) Jackson of Terre Haute; also his brother-in-law Dale Ricketts of Edgewood, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Candy and Greg Wehr, his parents, his brother Willard Jackson, and his sisters Neva Rea, Margaret Rullman, and Ruth Carter.
Mr. Jackson was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he attained the rank of Corporal and received the National Defense Service Medal. He worked in Naval Avionics for eight years and was employed with the Jefferson Proving Ground for 14 years where he worked in the ammunition plant and was a painter. Above all of his jobs though farming and raising his cattle was what he loved.
Hubert was a 65-year member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Versailles American Legion, and the Hart-Parr Oliver Tractor Collector's Club.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Mullins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Baptist Church, Tanglewood Cemetery, or the Parkinson's disease Foundation in care of the funeral home.Sandra Faye Lanham
Sandra Faye "Sandy" Lanham, 69, of Madison, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, She was born December 11, 1943 in Vevay, the daughter of the late Clarence Sr. and Bernice McKenzie Brown.
She was raised in Vevay and attended school there. She was united in marriage on September 21, 1959 to Frankie Charles Lanham in Carrollton, Kentucky.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Frankie Charles Lanham of Madison; daughters, Shauna Skirvin and husband Rick of Rexville, Sheryl L. Lanham of Portland, Oregon; sons, Kevin and wife Vicki of Madison, Michael of Tallahassee, Florida, William Todd of Madison; sisters, Janice Ramsey of Vevay, Betty Callahan of Westport, Lolita Bolden and her husband Skip of Tallahassee, Florida; brothers, Jack Brown and wife Juanita of Westport, Keith Brown and wife bonnie of Westport, and Darrell Brown of Dillsboro.
Also surviving are grandchildren Troy Lanham and wife Deven, Justin Demaree, Corie Lanham and wife Angie, Chris Butler and wife Sam, Derek Butler, Tyler Lanham, Brandy Douglas and her husband Clayton and Kassie Lanham; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Lanham enjoyed taking care of her home and helping on the farm. She loved painting pictures, fishing, crafts and music. She was baptized and enjoyed the fellowship of Vevay Assembly Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8 at 1 p.m. at the Lanham home, 4741 W. County Road 925 S., near Madison. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the Lanham home.
A celebration of life will be held at the home of her son, Billy Lanham immediately following the memorial service at 9557 W. County Road 350 West, near Madison.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Switzerland County Public Library Summer Reading Program.

Eric Ibn Mullin
Eric Ibn Mullin, 52, Sheridan, formerly of Osgood, passed away Saturday, June 1, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Eric was born April 11, 1961, the son of the late Clayton A. and Martha Isabell (Fulton) Mullin, who still survives. He married April Mae Nickell. One sister, Gisele, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, April Mae, and mother Martha Isabell (Fulton) Mullin both of Sheridan, daughters Brittany (Eric) Danielle Henry and Morgan Bianca Mullin, both of Indianapolis.
Services will take place all on one day, June 9, at Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood, are entrusted with the arrangements.
Eva Marie Lowe Thayer
Eva Marie Lowe Thayer, 79, of Madison, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born October 15, 1933 in Sigorney, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas Clayton and Sophia Duensing Lowe. She married September 21, 1033 in St. Louis to Rev. Donald Gray Thayer and he preceded her in death on November 24, 1997.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Bailey and husband Rick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Douglas Thayer and wife Janice of Birdseye; two sisters, Vernelda Yahn of Richmond, Iowa, Ilene Ansley of Newton, Iowa; two brothers, Jack Lowe of Amana, Iowa, Don Lowe of Arkansas and grandchildren, Cassandra, Emerson and Hailey; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Her parents Thomas Clayton and Sophia Lowe, husband, Rev. Donald Gray Thayer; son, Mark Andrew Thayer; sisters, Doris Crossett, Louise Young and Jean Yates; brothers, Bernard, Bert and Roy Lowe all preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thayer was employed with the Ripley County Division of Family and Children in 1968. She retired as a social worker after 30 years of service. She enjoyed worship at the Point of Grace and the River Valley Community Church.
Funeral services will be held today, June 6 at 7 .m. at the Point of Grace Family Praise Fellowship, 3304 N. US 421, Madison. The family will gather and greet visitors at 6:30 p.m.
