Scholarship set up to honor Emily Huntington

The beauty of the life of Emily Huntington, Jac-Cen-Del senior and pride and joy of the community, will live on through a scholarship fund in her honor.

According to organizers from the JCD school, the days have been dark since they lost one of their star athletes and they are looking to create some positive light by beginning the "Live Laugh Learn" Scholarship in Emily Huntington's honor.

"Live Laugh Learn" was one of Emily's favorite sayings and is posted on the sign in front of the school. The sign also says "just drive". Emily lost her life in a tragic auto accident where she was texting and not wearing her seat belt.

On January 31 the JCD Senior Night game with Greensburg has been named "Pack the Gym for Em" night. There will be a chili supper with proceeds going to help establish the scholarship fund. The school will also use the game as an opportunity to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving.
