recognizes Eagle fall sports athletes at annual awards program

The annual JCD Jr. High and High School Fall
Sports Recognition and Awards Programs got underway at approximately
6 & 7 p.m. respectively on Tuesday evening, November 1,
at the JCDHS gym, with Athletic Director Mar Meyer emceeing
the event.
In opening, Meyer welcomed supporters and thanked the student
athletes, coaches and others for helping to once again (in
the tradition of JCD sports) produce a positive and productive
athletic season.
Jr. High Teams & Awards
Girls Cross Country
Coach Steve Narwold reported that his girls cross country
team had posted a very good season, with an overall record
of 53-9, which included major first place invitational finishes.
The 2011 jr. high girls cross country team included: Abby
Wagner, Teha Merkel, Lexie Volz, Kerigan Foster, Lilly Simon,
Kayla Bowling, Tiffany Roberts, Allison Borgman, Katelyn Gehl,
Maiah Simon, Meghan Maly, Gracie Volz, Taylor Chambers and
Olivia Rehberger.

The Steve Narwold coached boys cross country team enjoyed
a productive season effort, posting a 47-16 overall record.
The 2011 jr. high boys cross country team included: Evan Borgman,

and Dillan McQueen.

their season with an overall record of four wins, six losses
and two ties.

Powers, Carson Horan, Maverick Dwenger, Michael Pope, Andrew

7th Grade Girls Volleyball
JCD's eighth grade girls volleyball coach Christa Riley spoke
on behalf of seventh grade coach Abby Lauber, who missed the
program due to illness.
Although the team's overall season record was 2 & 13,
many individual skill improvements had been achieved.
The 2011 7th grade girls volleyball team included: Kayla Bowling,
Catherine Crase, Tressa Moore, Amiee Stewart, Mallory Winters,
Tylor Carroll, Baili Miller, Roselyn Newhart and Makayla Weber.

Coach Mark Jones reported that his varsity soccer team's season
had left many thoughts of what could have, been in the end,
but relayed that all in all he remains proud of his team and
their efforts. Obviously not the end they had invisioned along
the way, but positive in most aspects of game by game play.
