Pastor Russell S. Stephens
Pastor Russell F. Stephens was born to Ray Stephens and Lettie Salyers on June 2, 1934 and left this earthly plain on October 19, 2011 being welcomed by our Lord and Savior and his loved ones who have gone before him. Russell was born in Kentucky and moved as a child to southeastern Indiana where he attended high school in Napoleon.
Russell would frequently talk about playing against the mighty basketball team from Milan that won the state championship finals in 1954.
Russell married his high school sweetheart, Madge Huey, who survives, in 1954, and was blessed to be married 57 years. He is survived by his daughter, Paula Stephens-Bibeau; his son, Pastor David Stephens; daughter-in-law, Joanie Stephens; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers; one sister and their spouses as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ.
He worked both the land and for the souls of the many men and women for Christ. He was actively involved in the Emmaus. Golf had become his joy and frustration with his last game Monday, the 10th, being one of his best. He was a member of the Osgood Masonic Lodge and was an active 32 degree Mason and a member of the Osgood Lions Club. A humble and kind man, he made sure those around him were cared and provided for without question.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 21, from 5-8 p.m. at the Osgood First Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m. also at the church. Burial will be at the Greendale Cemetery near Osgood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child or a charity of your choice. Dorothy Ann "Dot" Rullman
Dorothy Ann "Dot" Rullman, age 82, a lifelong resident of Dillsboro, passed away Monday afternoon, October 10, 2011 in Dillsboro. She was born May 26, 1929 to Harry Fleetwood Bruce and Emma Brooks Bruce, and graduated from Dillsboro High School in 1947.
On May 22, 1948 she was married to R. Clinton Rullman, and they resided on Oak Street in Dillsboro on the family farm their entire married life. Dot was employed for a time at the post office, and she and Clint ran the farm together, until Clint passed away in June of 1999.
She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 292, and was active in auxiliary activities. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro.
Dot was a pleasant person to be around, she loved to laugh, and would do anything for you. She would always pay people back for doing her a favor with a piece of pie. Dot loved her Diet Cokes, and just being around people.
Although Dot and Clint were not blessed with any children, she was a special "mother" to her miniature schnauzer named "Fritz", who she had for 14 years.
Dot is survived by her niece, Sheila Rullman of Dillsboro; her sister-in-law, Dana Rullman of Dillsboro; several great nieces and nephews; a cousin, Charlie Brooks, and a close family friend, David Disbro of Dillsboro.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro, with Pastor Richard Kolaskey officiating. Friends may meet her family at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her memory to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 292 in Dillsboro. Arrangements are entrusted to Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

Harold "Skip" E. Hacker
Harold "Skip" E. Hacker, 64, of Indianapolis, formerly of New Point, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at 12 noon, at the New Point Christian Church with military honors at the church. Visitation will also be Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, is handling arrangements.

Clayton A. Mullin
Clayton A. Mullin, 91, of Sheridan, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis. He was born January 11, 1920 in Carroll County, Indiana, the son of Arthur R. and Mary E. (Been) Mullin. He married Martha I. Fulton on November 14, 1952 and she survives.
Clayton was a 1938 graduate of Delphi High School. He graduated from Purdue with an undergraduate degree in Entomology and Plant Biology. He earned a Masters Degree in education.
Mr. Mullin was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII. He taught chemistry and biology at Camden High School and also taught at Crawfordsville and Burlington. He served as principal at Crawfordsville Elementary School and was an educator for more than 20 years.
He was a farmer and he and his wife owned and operated a farm drainage business for many years. Clayton was a member of the Camden Masonic Lodge and the Delphi American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eric (April) Mullin of Sheridan and Larry Sullivan of Kokomo; one daughter, Janice (Larry) Brown of Frankton; four grandchildren, Brittany and Morgan Mullin, Tony Fulton and Lisa Keefe; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Samuel Keefe; and one brother, William H. (Rita) Mullin of Zionsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Gisele E. Mullin; and two brothers, John T. Mullin and Merlin Mullin.
Funeral services are being held Friday, October 14, at 2 p.m. at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan. Military honors being conducted by the Cicero VFW. Burial will be in the Mundy Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation is being held Thursday, October 13, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Evelyn May Meek, 78, of Brownsburg, formerly of Madison, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011. Leroy J. Zimmerman
Leroy J. Zimmermann, 75, of Milan, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011, at his residence. He was born June 7, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Louis J. and Eleanor (Wanstrath) Zimmermann. He was married to Eleanor (Cornell Dixon) Zimmermann on November 9, 1996 and she survives.
Mr. Zimmermann was co-owner/operator of the Green Gables Restaurant and Motel on Harrison Pike in Cincinnati and later retired after driving for Baylor Trucking for 19 years. He served his country having served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Milan American Legion Post #235. He enjoyed horse back riding, his dog "Bear" and spending time with his family.
Roy is survived by his wife, Eleanor; son, Barton Zimmermann of Harrison, OH; daughter, Kelly (Roger) Head of Moores Hill; step children, William (Rhonda) Dixon of Greensburg, Michael (Carol) Dixon of Batesville, David (Tricia) Dixon of Milan, Charles (Peggy) Dixon of Lawrenceburg, KY, Terri (Ken) Lowder of North Carolina and Jan (Roy) Thomas of Osgood; three grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren and 14 step great grandchildren; sister, Charmaine Rose (Bob) Hauck; sister-in-law, Janet Zimmermann. He was preceded in death by son, Bradley Louis Zimmermann; brother, John Zimmermann; one grandchild and one step grandchild.
Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Methodist Cemetery, south of Sunman. Military rites will be performed by the Milan American Legion Post #235. William Herschel "Hook" Guard
William Herschel "Hook" Guard, 84, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2011 at Quaker Gardens, Stanton, California. He was born on October 16, 1927 in Versailles, and was preceded in death by the love of his life, Anna Marie Guard in 2009.
He was a graduate of Rose University in Mechanical Engineering, and was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 30 years.
Surviving are his two sons, Samuel and Roger; and his two daughters-in-law, Judi and Teresa; four granddaughters, Nicolle Wilson and husband Jeff, Ashley White and husband Daniel, Sathina Guard and Tannon Guard; two great grandchildren, Tyler Wilson and Alexa Wilson; and sister, Rosemary Moreland of Dillsboro.
Bill will be missed by all for his love of music, sense of humor, and mostly his big heart and smile. He will remain forever in our hearts. May he and Anna rest peacefully in the hands of God.
There will be a memorial service and a time of sharing memories with family and friends on Saturday, October 8, at 11 a.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. His remains will be interred at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.

Anna Marie "Tooter" Guard

Anna Marie "Tooter" Guard, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2009 in Long Beach, California. She was born May 12, 1933 in Hooven, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Taylor High School in Cleves, Ohio. After marrying her husband, William, they moved to Long Beach, California, where she was a professional seamstress and teacher for the Adult Education System in Downey, California.
She is survived by her two sons, Samuel Guard and Roger Guard; two daughters-in-law, Judi Guard and Teresa Guard; four grandchildren, Nicolle Wilson and husband Jeff, Ashley White and husband Daniel, Sathina Guard and Tannon Guard; two great grandchildren, Tyler Wilson and Alexa Wilson; brother, David Williamson; and a cousin, Wilma "Sis" Creemer.
Anna will be greatly missed by all and remain forever in our hearts. May she and Bill rest peacefully in the hands of God.
There will be a memorial service and a time of sharing memories with family and friends on Saturday, October 8, at 11 a.m. at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro. Her remains will be interred at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro.
