Paul
Warner Kennedy
Paul Warner Kennedy, 73, of Evanston, Indiana, passed away at
his home Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He was born in Milan on
May 29, 1938, the son of Harry "Paul" and Dorothy
(Warner) Kennedy. He married Sandra (Gilland) Kennedy who survives.
Mr. Kennedy was a United States Air Force Veteran and a retired
employee of the American Electric Power Company in Rockport,
Indiana.
Surviving
with his wife, Sandra, are children, Christopher Kennedy of
Dallas, TX, Steve (Barbara) Kennedy of Batesville, Kevin (Denise)
Kennedy of Tyler, TX, and daughter Lisa (Quentin) Mangum of
Lamar, Indiana; mother, Dorothy Kennedy and brother, Mike Kennedy,
both of Guilford; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be on Friday, October 21, at 2:15 p.m.
at New Craven Cemetery at Milan. Military rites will be performed
at the gravesite by the Milan American Legion Post #235. Visitation
will be noon until 2 p.m. on Friday at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral
Home, Milan. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Fund
or the Perry County Humane Society through Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral
Home, who is entrusted with arrangements.

Ruth M. Jenner, 82, of Sunman, passed away Thursday, October
13, 2011. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 16, at
Cook Funeral Home, Sunman with burial in the St. Johns

Arnold "Mike" Schwegman, 90, of Batesville, passed
away Monday, October 17, 2011. Funeral mass will be held Friday,
October 21, at St. Marys of the Rock Church, St. Marys
beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday, October 20,
from 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Brookville. Burial will

Cecil
A. Bultman, Jr.
Cecil A. Bultman, Jr., 73 of Napoleon, died Friday, October
7, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Bultman was very community oriented and served on the board
of directors for Rescue 69 for 36 years where he currently served
as president.
He
was a 58-year member of the Napoleon Fire Department, served
16 years on the Jac-Cen-Del School Board and was a current member
of the board of directors for the Ripley County Basketball Hall
of Fame.
He was a member of the Osgood Lions Club and earlier this year
had received the coveted Melvin Jones Fellowship.
Mr. Bultman was a 1957 graduate of Napoleon High School and
a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Napoleon.
He served as a Lutheran Layman, was past president of the ELCA,
and past president of Thrivent for Lutherans. He spent his entire
life in the Napoleon community where he farmed and was also
a master driver for Baylor Trucking at Milan, where he was their
CDL instructor. He received the state's Master Driver award
in 2006 for logging a million accident free miles and had also
received an honorary chapter degree from the Jac-Cen-Del FFA.
Mr. Bultman loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was born at Greensburg on August 3, 1938, the son of Cecil
Sr. and Alice Young Bultman. He married Mary Cook on April 11,
1959, and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters: Judy Bultman and companion
Dan Mulford of Osgood; Karen (Bill) Huff and Linda (Dan) Walke,
both of Napoleon and Sue Ann (Jerry) Kruger of Franklin; 11
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother Denzil
Bultman of Madison; one sister, Devota Dean of Osgood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald
Charles Bultman and his son, Karl A. Bultman.
Funeral services will be held today, October 11 at 11 a.m. at
St. Johns Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor Gary
Groth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles, was in charge
of the arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Napoleon
Fire Department or Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.

Sewell Moore
James Sewell Moore, 65, of Madison passed
away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Kings Daughters
Hospital in Madison. He was born at Hollandsville in Wolfe County,
Kentucky on November 28, 1945 the son of Frank and Laura Watkins
Moore. He was married to Nancy Waltz on December 7, 1979 and
she survives.
Other survivors include one son, James S. (Jessica) Moore II
of Holton; one daughter, Penny (Adam) Fisher of Naples, Florida;
two granddaughters, Destiny and Desiree Moore; two brothers,
Bill Moore of Holton and George Moore of North Vernon; one sister,
Phyllis Hardy of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents,
his brothers Robert, Johnny, Elmer, and Raymond Moore and his
sisters Sara Ann Sharp, Frances Holland, Bertha Moore, and Emma
Cunningham.
Mr. Moore was a former resident of Holton and had been employed
with the Ripley County Highway Department, the Indiana State
Highway Department, and Laughery Valley Co-op in Versailles.
He was a former member of the Holton Fire Department.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 10 at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles with burial in the Grandview Memorial
Garden in Madison. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer
Society or the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral
home.
Malcomb
"Cap" Fredrick Heidt
Malcolm "Cap" Fredrick Heidt, age 92, of
Batesville, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011. He was born
in Batesville on May 25, 1919, the son of Clarence and Lorena
(Brummer) Heidt.
Cap graduated from Batesville High School in 1937 and was in
the Battle of the Bulge with the U.S. Army during WWII. On August
22, 1946, he married Louise Craig in Greensburg. Cap was a plumber
all his life. He ran Heidt Plumbing for many years until he
retired in 1990. He was a member of the Batesville United Methodist
Church, Post #1198 VFW and the Rural Fire Department.
Cap loved farming, the outdoors, animals and especially his
family. He was known for his practical jokes and story telling,
which usually included war stories and his Army days of working
with the carrier pigeons.
He is survived by his son, Thomas (Cindy) Heidt of Versailles;
daughters, Janice Bedel of Versailles and Connie (Tom) Miller
of Batesville; six grandchildren, Jon & Mark Heidt, Rick
& Steve Bedel and Nancy & Clint Miller; along with seven
great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded
in death by his sister Vaunetta Moenter.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 10 at Meyers Funeral
Home, Batesville. Burial was in the Batesville United Methodist
Church Cemetery with military graveside rites. Online condolences

Dean Vinup
William
Dean Vinup, age 69, of Dillsboro, passed away Sunday, October
2, 2011 at Dearborn County Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born August 20,1942 in Milan to Ralph R. Vinup and Leona
Mary Pieper Vinup, and graduated from Dillsboro High School
in the class of 1961.
Bill was employed at Seagrams in Lawrenceburg as a Fireman and
Oiler for many years.
Surviving are three daughters, Bernice L. Vinup of Dillsboro,
Barbara S. (Eric) King of Vevay, and Becky (Bill) DeSonia of
Vevay; one son, William D. (Laurie) Vinup, Jr. of Dillsboro;
two brothers, James Vinup of Dillsboro, and Russell Vinup of
Harrison, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce Hoover of Harrison, Ohio,
and Irene Vinup of Milan; seven grandchildren, and three great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one
brother, Ray Vinup, and one sister, Ruby Rose Vinup.
A private graveside service will be held for members of the
family at the Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro. The family prefers
memorials be given to the Friendship Fire Department in his
memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Filter-DeVries Funeral
Home, Dillsboro.

Alois
E. (Al) Rutzel, 75, of Moores Hill, passed away Sunday, October
2, 2011. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at
1 p.m. at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill, with
Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest
Hill Cemetery at Moores Hill. Visitation will also be Wednesday,
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be

Ulene Quinlan, 52, of Brookville, passed away Sunday, October
2, 2011. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 7, from 12 noon to

following. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt.

Pastor Pearl Cornett
Pastor Pearl Cornett, 64, of Versailles, passed away Wednesday,
September 28, 2011 near Manchester, Kentucky. He was born near
Manchester in Clay County, Kentucky on December 24, 1946 the
son of Hiram and Frances Nolan Cornett. He was married to Elaine
Canada on April 17, 1965 and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Melissa (David) McGuire
of Sunman, Melody (Jeff) Wright of Osgood, and Tracy (Greg)
Fisk of Versailles; two sons, Vearl Cornett of Versailles and
Leslie Martin of Seymour; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson;
three brothers, Price(Sarah) Cornett and Hiram Cornett, Jr.
both of Manchester, Kentucky, and Arnold (Thelma) Cornett of
Blanchester, Ohio; six sisters, Mary Wilson Sammons, Flora (Jimmy)
Morgan, and Amanda Ross all of Salem, Indiana, Evelyn Strunk
and Lorna Allen both of Milan, and Janie (Wayne) Dawes of Norwood,
Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers
Lewis, Alfred, and James Cornett.
Brother Pearl founded the Cavehill Church of God near Versailles
in 1976 and served as their senior pastor for 34 years, seeing
his congregation grow from 10 people to over 200 and seeing
them through two building projects. He also founded the Cavehill
Christian Academy and through the church and school touched
a multitude of lives.
He loved spending time with his family and returning to his
native Kentucky, especially in the fall of the year. He was
also a member of World Missions and Evangelism.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 3 at the Cavehill
Church of God with Pastor Doug Norman officiating. Burial was
in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given
to the church or the Cavehill Christian Academy in care of the
Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles.
